Shorts for large of thigh

I'm going on holiday in a few weeks, and temperatures are expected to be very hot - early to mid 30s.

I normally hang out in cropped jeans (I have one pair that I wear to death), but I think it will be far too hot for denim.

So I have very chunky legs. Big thighs, chubby knees, lots of cellulite & veins Sad. I don't own a pair of shorts that I fit in to, but I will need to buy some. Holiday is an active one, where floaty maxi dresses aren't going to be suitable.

Has anyone recommendations for good shorts? I have tried some jersey type ones in Sainsbury's, and they were grim. I tried another pair there that looked like an oversized lampshade hanging from my middle.

I tried Decathlon, and they were even worse.

If you are on the thigh heavy side, what do you do for shorts?

If I have to wear shorts, I wear a linen blend pair from M&S about 5 years ago, that are a few inches shorter than knee length.

I much prefer to wear culottes, or 3/4 length culottes or wide legged jumpsuits - they are so flattering on me, and suit my personal style so much better than shorts. I've just been wearing them in 40 degree heat.

I bought a culotte jumpsuit, and a pair of culottes in Asda, and I'm so impressed with the sizing and quality of both pieces.

I'm a large of thigh and just found some 20€ shorts in h&m. Sort of City style so you can dress them up or down. They had them in black/navy/white/beige.
Give them a try.

Chunky things over here too. I've got 2 pairs of Boden chino shorts in the 9" length and they fit well and cover the worse of the wobbly bits.

Next Chino shorts. They have quite wide legs which makes my thighs look slim by comparison.

The most flattering ones I have are floaty short playsuits -New look them up to size 18 but the plus size section is a more flattering cut in 16 and 18's . They don't cling to my legs and make me look quite as huge!
Other than that I find denim cut off shorts the most flattering .

I got some Gap bermuda shorts this year. Sort of chino-like, nice quality, nicely tailored around the bum and go to just above knee although you can roll them higher. My calves are veiny but there's nothing I can do about it so I'm just going to forget about it and enjoy an active holiday!

Linen blend shorts - like these www.next.co.uk/g21144s2#722647

There are some linen ones on the Poetry website that might suit you- longish and quite floaty. They are expensive though.

I buy men's cargo shorts hennes or gap Smile

I wear Boden linen shorts - they come in three lengths and are baggy which helps with the thigh thing, I like to think. Lovely and airy and dry quickly too, really comfy.

Thanks all.

I bought these ones at asda which are ok.

I need to try H&M & Gap.

I was Shock at the price of Boden ones!

More culottes than shorts, very comfy too.
