How to repair a small tear

In a black drapey top? I think it's viscose or rayon, caused by a nightmare neighbour's hateful cat claw. The tear is on the front of the top and typically it's now unavailable everywhere. Any ideas how I can repair it invisibly?

Look for iron on lightweight interfacing. (Don't buy the hemming stuff by mistake as it's sticky on both sides!)

Just iron a small patch over the tear useless?

Iron the top on the right side so the tear is as even and close together as possible. Then iron the interfacing onto the inside of the top, hopefully it will make the tear close to invisible.
