Cardigan/top advice

I recently bought a wrap dress that looks really good for my shape (curvy) as is v. flattering, although it's quite 40s in that it comes out quite a bit over the bum if that makes sense. I can't find a pic online but it is similar in shape to this one:

www.georgemorgan.me.uk/adorable-knee-length-dresses-prints-stretch-long-sleeves-womens-handpicked-by-birds-printed-faux-jersey-wrap-dress-confetti-p-602.html

Problem is whenever I put a cardigan over top you can't see my waist anymore and it is really really unflattering, and I need something to at least put over it for when it gets cold in the evening.

What would you advise?

Cropped denim jacket or neat fitting biker style in grey suede? Something that only comes to your waist to keep the shape.

Like Cake says, I find a short denim or leather jacket works well or a cardigan as long as it's cropped and ends at my waist (and my waist is quite high). It depends on what kind of look you want - a cardigan is always pretty but, if you're not careful, can look a bit dated whereas a jacket spikes it up a bit.

Personally I'm still a sucker for a cropped cashmere cardigan from Pure Collection who have a sale on or Boden where I'm sure the sale will start soon I've had mine for years so not sure what the quality is like now but they were certainly good at the time. Boden also do a cheaper 'basic' cropped cardi.

cropped lapel / blazer style jacket with 3/4 lenthg sleeves. I think a biker jacket would add confusion to the neckline but a classic cropped blazer style jacket would show the neckline of your dress off and not compete.

I have lots of fitted cropped cardis to layer over dresses. The hems usually fall below my waist/to high hip, as the hem of a truly cropped cardi would otherwise add bulk. I size down so that the cardi follows the line of the dress. Lots of this kind of style in places like uniqlo, hobbs, Boden, jcrew.

I do quite like the idea of a jersey cropped biker over the top too.

All great ideas! I like the idea of the cardi, biker jacket AND blazer.

Isn't it funny how buying new clothes leads to buying even more clothes like this? Grin
