Beauty box as a birthday gift

itstheyearzero · 14/07/2017 17:33

I'd like to get my best friend a couple of beauty boxes for her upcoming birthday. She bought the M&S beauty advent calendar at Christmas and said she loved having a little surprise to open each day so I thought a beauty box would offer her a similar experience.

I'm thinking of spending about £50 or so, and was wondering if I should get her a 3 month subscription or maybe a couple of different boxes to try in the same month.

She is 48, with a young outlook and I think would prefer skincare rather than make up because she's quite particular about the make up she uses.

So, please help me! There are so many out there I am going round in circles unable to make a decision. Any recommendations based on the info I have provided?

Thanks Grin

Latest in Beauty do some good one off boxes as collaborations with magazines, brands etc like this one which is £35 with products worth £156...

It's full of proper high end stuff so nice for a gift? Lancôme, Zelens, Omorovicza etc.

QVC do a "TILI" Box (Try It Love It)
I don't know how often they're released but if you go onto qvcuk.com and put TILI in the Search ..... its £20 , freep&p

I've ordered a Formula (M&S) Skincare box (£35 in the sale) not picked it up yet . 4 skincare + a cleansing brush (that my DD has bagsied)

Actually the M&S one probably wouldn't work because the box looks a bit 'festive' ........Grin (Leftover Christmas stock?

Ooh that box is fab cakes. That's a definite possibility. I could put a couple of extra bits in too. Not heard of TILI 70, will investigate. Any more recommendations welcome!

I've had lookfantastic, pip box and latest in beauty. Latest in beauty is my fave.
Check out this blog which reviews the boxes whichbeautyboxuk.com

Oh my head is messed, I meant little bit lavish not latest in beauty.
I've never for the latest in beauty one :p

I've had a few Latest in Beauty boxes and it all comes individually nicely wrapped in tissue paper inside. They're great value I think. That Harper's one is great value for the calibre of brands inside it.

Update..I ordered the Harpers Bazaar box. Hope she likes it!

Further update...it arrived today and it looks and feels reassuringly expensive! Unfortunately I can't open it up properly to have a look at the gorgeous products because the tray is wrapped in tissue paper and secured with a Harpers sticker. Grrr. Probably for the best though, I wouldn't be able to resist having just a little try of them all. Thanks again cakes for the recommendation! Smile Flowers
