Please help me find a top to wear with this skort?

So I have bought the Zara black frill skort but need a top and I'm struggling. It needs to be strappy as it will be hot (night out on holiday!) and I will be dancing so don't want to have to wear a strapless top. I don't like Bardot tops as the sleeve but will annoy me. Ideally a strappy vest type top but all the chamisole tops iv seen are quite floaty and I need something fitted as I'm short and loose tops look silly on it. I'll attach a picture ...

Things tucked in don't sit right on me? It just ends up all bunched up or half in and out like a school shirt!

What about a nice bodysuit? It'll be fitted and you won't need to worry about the tucking in thing.

I like that but I worry my belly would look awful.... I'm a size 8 but my belly sticks out and a tip helps disguise it whereas I'd worry a body suit would high light it? Plus I'm a short arse so will need to find a petite one!

I'm short too (5ft1) and a standard sized bodysuit is always ok so you may get away with it.

I tried a couple on from asos few weeks back (not with the skort) and they were all saggy so too long, I should have a look at some others.

I want to look my best otherwise I feel really insecure and don't enjoy myself!

How high up do the skorts come up on you? Because you may be able to get away with a cropped top? There's so many belly button grazing ones out at the moment.

They sit just below my belly button, few millimetres below. I thought of that as I have one that isn't too 'cropped' but worried it looks a bit tarty as the skort does very much look like a short skirt!

Er.....if you're a size 8, I'm pretty sure that your tummy doesn't really stick out.

Primark always seem to have loads of strappy vest tops In different colours and styles. You could get a few!

I never go in primark as it's like a jumble sale plus bit of a trek from me.... I'll try to see if I can get to one before school breaks up as don't want to drag the dc round one!

To be honest, most chain stores sell vest tops. New Look, M&S, etc. If it's for holiday, I wouldn't be too concerned over the label or quality, just in case it gets ruined!

I'd definitely recommend primark. Loads of vests/cami's. Maybe try floral/patterned to disguise the 'belly' 😂

I got the matching top in Zara to go with the scort, the frilled top, also in black. Looks good but you might be too hot on holiday. I'm going to wear with gold heels and clutch for a hen do in Sept in the UK. I got the outfit idea from a very cool lady I recently met on holiday, she was wearing the white version. I got the scort in a small and it is very short.

I don't want a normal vest top as it's for the evening out with friends so won't be getting covered in sun cream.

Which is the top tank? Yes it is short but as I'm short it doesn't show my arse cheeks and actually finishes at a flattering part of my thighs whereas all the others stop at the worse part!

H&M always have lots of fitted, strappy vest tops in multiple colours.
