Stylish but practical rucksack?

I'm a mum of 3 and lots of days out planned for the summer..hence looking for a rucksack. I've got my eye on a cath kidston one at the moment but I'm not sure how practical they are ? My budget is around £50 but obviously expect to be using this bag a lot . Any suggestions?

If you're going to use it a lot, I'd be inclined to go for an proper outdoors one rather than a fashion led one. I like the Patagonia Toromiro.

Patagonia stuff is always fantastically well designed, well made and lasts for decades.

Sweaty Betty rucksacks are lovely.

Kanken. I know they're love/hate but I love them because they are simple and practical. You can fit loads in, great colours, lightweight - get one with padded straps. Comfiest backpack I've ever carried and I do a commute walk of minimum hour a day with paperwork, shopping, shoes in it. It's a very simple design, not loads of pockets but best thing is it zips practically all way round so you can plonk it on your lap/on table and get at stuff really easily. Probably little past your budget but lots of discount codes if you sign up for newsletter etc.

For mum-days-out I have a Lowe Alpine one. Not terribly stylish but exactly what I need, and I like to think there is something at least a little stylish about being perfectly appropriately equipped for the situation [hopeful emoticon].
