Which red lipstick?

Following on from the red lippy at work thread...

Any suggestions for a red lipstick - I'm yellow toned, almost olive skinned, very dark, almost black hair, hazel eyes.

I really fancy the look of MAC relentlessly red which looks slightly pink toned.

Please tell me your favourites that will suit my colouring!

Ps I know the ideal would be to go into MAC or a big department store but I really don't have time at the moment.

I have very similar colouring and I wear Revlon Colourburst in Femme Fatale. It looks alike a fat shiny pencil.

Though on second look it is slightly pinkish (rather than tomato orange).

Great thanks king I'll take a look. I generally prefer the pencil type lipsticks (although usually pinky nude colours).

Does it last?

MAC Relentlessly Red is indeed an extremely pink toned red. It's a stunning colour and would probably suit everyone. Sadly the formula is shocking - extremely drying and i find it makes my lips look flaky by afternoon. I have to wear it with a lip balm underneath

Pinkvici22 · 11/07/2017 08:30

Oh no Lotta - how much do you need to reapply if you were a balm under it? I love the look of it but hate a drying lipstick Confused

If you're looking for a pink toned red, MAC Red might suit - it's one of the satins so not drying, but still stays on really well. (I usually like a matte lipstick but do rate this one.)

I probably reapply MAC RR a couple of times a day. I adore the colour so I don't mind sacrificing the matte effect by adding lip balm

Revlon Fire and Ice might also be a great colour for you. Its a bright red that has both pink and coral tones. Cream finish and not drying at all. I love it

Mac Ruby Woo is lovely!

If it's still made, Maybelline's Hollywood Red is a fairly gentle pink-brick red that works on most people as well as being both cheap and not too drying.

Maybelline matte siren in Scarlett. It's my fave in the world

BlondeGinger · 11/07/2017 15:36

MAC Ruby Woo suits everyone. I'm a big fan of their Lady Danger too. It's got an orange hint.

Thanks for all the suggestions!
