Can anyone recommend a suntan lotion? I am allergic to all brands I have tried, it particularly bad for my eyes and they feel bruised and become swollen. I take anti histamine which works. Any natural remedies. Very fair skinned red head so need high factors
Many thanks
RR

My daughter is allergic and the only one she can wear is Ultrasun sensitive. A friend has found the same - ultrasun is the only one she can wear

You might be best looking for a physical/ mineral sunscreen as opposed to a chemical one

Hi thanks - I can't use the ultra sun
I will try a mineral based one though

Hi, my day is allergic to sun creams. We found an amazing one from boots that is so gentle on her skin but does the job ... it's called La Roche-Possay. It's a little expensive but it's worth it so my little one doesn't flare up in an itchy rash.

Day -daughter 😂

I have the same problem and tried so many brands. I found I could use the Simple sun cream range, but that is hard to get now. Piz Bruin allergy is ok if I don't need to use it for more than a couple of days at a time. Other than that all the other brands mentioned bring me up in an awful rash. I think it's a matter of seeing which work for you. You also used to be able to get sun cream on prescription, so might be worth a call to your go surgery.

My son is allergic to most sun creams - bioderma, la Roche posay, ultrasun, some really gentle organic stuff et al. This year I managed to get some Aveeno sun cream (can't get it in the uk, I bought it from amazon and was shipped from the USA) and so far, fingers crossed, he doesn't react to it. Next year he might but for now it seems ok. Maybe worth a try

I develop a mild rash with most sunscreens, but I find Greenpeople and Lavera sunscreen are both okay. I think the Lavera ones are mineral based.

My dd has just discovered Sun Smart from M&S is ok for her. Until now Liz Buin Allergy has been the only other cream she could use

Mine is to do with eyes only. I don't get a rash.

if I use anything (including makeup ) with a factor 25 or over on my face it reacts with my eyes- however I can use La roche possay and uvistat (stick) and am fine.
now use on the kids too as if I applied theirs while we were out and couldn't wash my hands my eyes would react

SuburbanCrofter · 10/07/2017 19:49

The only one I can use is Eucerin for children.
