Denim jackets

I haven't worn one of these since the 90s.

I saw a woman in one yesterday on top of a black body con dress. It looked good.

Are they coming back into fashion?

They've been around a while this year. If you find one you love, hang on to it as they come back every few years. I have one from about 18 yrs ago and I have started wearing it again and had compliments.

happyinherts · 09/07/2017 13:51

Can anyone find me a black one, please? I'd really love one. Don't think the pale blue or darker blue really suit me, and black would be better over more of my dresses.

If anyone could find me a black denim jacket, preferably High Street, (size 16) I'd be grateful.

Sorry to hijack your thread OP by the way. Yes, they're very much fashion at the moment.

Almost got one yesterday. Then realised I wear jeans 90% of the time and don't want to double denim. So now I need to find another jacket...

MikeUniformMike · 09/07/2017 13:59

I have a black one too, again from about 20 yrs ago. Both a well-known jeans brand. Now more than twice what I bought them for.
A quick search on black denim jacket showed a few high street ones.

Sweetpotato23 · 09/07/2017 14:02

I have one which is around 15 years old and am thinking of pulling it out to team with summer dresses ... will it look naff?

MikeUniformMike · 09/07/2017 14:06

No. I'm currently rocking the double denim look but a pretty dress with denim jacket will look great.

Onhold · 09/07/2017 14:09

I bought a nrw denim jacket from primark. I can no longer fit into the one I have from years ago . Blush

IHaveBrilloHair · 09/07/2017 14:13

I do summery dress with cropped denim jacket, I've had it a few years and treat it as a staple rather than fashion item

mistermagpie · 09/07/2017 14:45

I've got a fitted cropped one and it comes out in the summer to go over casual maxi dresses/skirts or printed trousers etc. If you get a plain fitted one in a 'normal' denim colour then it's not really a 'fashion' item as a pp states, more of a staple like a blazer or cardigan would be.

pilates · 09/07/2017 14:47

I love them, look great with summer dresses imo

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 09/07/2017 14:56

I've worn denim jackets every year since I was about 14 (and am now at least 30 years older than that). I don't think a basic, fitted, slightly cropped one ever looks naff.

Judydreamsofhorses · 09/07/2017 15:10

I absolutely always have a denim jacket in my arsenal - I think on it as a staple, like a leather jacket. I am currently wearing mine with midi dresses and skirts, dungarees, and cropped wide trousers. (I only have one pair of blue jeans and wouldn't wear it with those.) Mine's a Topshop one in quite dark blue from about three years ago, prior to this one I had a pale one from Primark which was about £10 and lasted three summers.

Boatsnack · 09/07/2017 17:56

Has anyone seen a fitted dark denim jacket in any of the shops. I used to have a French connection one that I got rid of thinking I'll never fit into it again and now I've lost some weight I'm gutted. I can only find proper baggy 80's/90's ones in the shops which really do not flatter my shape.

boobuzz · 09/07/2017 18:06

I love my Levi Denim jacket. £15 on eBay.

MipMipMip · 10/07/2017 13:42

Happy and Boat try www.shopstyle.co.uk/browse/jackets?fts=black+denim+jacket. You'll have to hunt through a bit but apparently in covers all UK fashion websites. Some if the prices are terrifying but most are more normal!

MipMipMip · 10/07/2017 13:44

European, not UK. Sorry
