Wasn't sure where to post this so sorry if it's in the wrong section!
I've just left Specsavers having got my new contact lenses and been taught how to put them, remove them and clean them etc.

However, I cannot see that well. Is this normal? I don't feel any benefit whatsoever at the minute. Is it because my eyes are still adjusting? They said it can take a while but I just wanted to know anyone's experiences of this.

My prescription is quite small so I can see "quite" well without them so this is why i'm able to type this but the words on the screen are blurry.

I have another appointment in just over a week....

PS it doesn't mean the optometrist had measured you incorrectly, lenses only come in a few fits whereas eyeballs come in many shapes! This is why you have a trial Smile

I had exactly the same problem. When I went back, they checked I was putting them in correctly and my eyesight with them in. Apparently my eyes were quite dry so I now use hycosan eye drops. I also find that my eyes are drier at this time of the year, presumably due to the heat. I would go back and get them to check everything for you.

Thanks mintich 👍🏼.

Just checked my prescription- for those that were asking its
R +0.50 - 0.75. 10.0 +0.75
L +1.00 -1.25 177.0 +0.75

If that makes sense to any of you, well done 😂

That's not a difficult prescription. I'm sure it's more about the fit.

Keep us posted. Good contact lenses can be life changing so I hope you get it sorted soon.

Update Smile

Got new lenses today. Turns out they haven't ordered me anything different they just want to try them in the opposite eye. So I'm wearing the new ones. Still blurry but only had them in half an hour.

They are tori. Lenses which are different. One eye to correct astigmatism, the other distance. Your. Rain is supposed to sort it out. Think this is called mono vision.

Miy brain obviously isn't that great!

I've read it can take a few days so
I'm gonna persevere, I go back next week.

Your vision sounds quite good. Do you normally wear glasses? Just wondering if contact lenses are a bit over kill?

Tanfastic · 13/07/2017 14:15

Yes I wear glasses but only for reading/iPad/computer/to etc. If I'm out and about I generally cope ok without them. I do work in a computer all day every day though so wear them
Most days.

Excuse typos, vision is blurry 😤

oh I see what they are doing, trying to get you to the point where you don't need readers or distance vision glasses by being clever with your lenses.

Don't worry, I have a stupid brain too.

You might be best off with contacts in both eyes that correct astigmatism and distance and then buying a cheap pair of readers.
