What product to scrunch into wet curly hair please?

My hair is naturally wavy/curly (read that as uneven curly and frizzy!) I Straighten it most of the time as I STILL can't find a product that I can scrunch into it wet and it define curls and reduce the frizz. I know lots say the boots pink curl but that isn't available anymore for some reason.

Please can anyone recommend a product? I don't want to do the whole 'curly girl' thing, just need a product that actually works!

Tia

The trouble is I like it straight some days (when it's not damp or raining) so I need my ghds to straighten.....

I'm finding products either leave it crunchy or oily and dank! Will have to try a couple of different products

I've used John Frieda Dream Curls spray for years on my wavy, frizzy hair and it transforms it into lovely defined beachy looking curls. They used to do a beach one in a green bottle with sea salt In It which was even better but I haven't been able to find it for a couple of years. The Dream Curls stuff is cheap and readily available in most supermarkets.

Apparently you do still get it.....this is Boots website.

Amper are you using the shea shampoo and conditioner? Or the finishing products? I have bought DD a deep treatment masque from that range, tempted to try it myself now.

I use Bumble and Bumble curl cream. I find the cut makes a difference - especially length.Mine is fine and soft and curly. If it gets too long it goes flat and wavy. I sometimes use salt spray on 2nd day to give it some texture and volume.

If I wash with cowash constantly my hair gets flat and lank and I do every other wash.

I discovered quite by accident that the Avon detangling spray gives me amazing curls on otherwise frizzy hair. Sprayed it on by accident one morning instead of the water spray I usually use. Now I use it all the time, few squirts when its damp after washing and the same the next day totally restores it and has left it in amazing condition too.

Iv tried some of the 'beach waves' type sprays including the bumble one and find they make my hair claggy and knotty. I haven't liked any of the John Frieda stuff in my hair either. Will pop into boots to see what I can find i havent tried out of this lot!

Well I decided to try out DDs Shea butter hair masque this afternoon and it's remarkable! The first product of this kind I have ever used that I could feel being sucked into my hair as I applied it! Had to put loads on as it was literally disappearing into my hair as I combed it through. My hair is still drying now but curls seem to form really nicely. I'm almost literally sitting on my hands now to stop myself from ordering the entire range, especially as I have ordered £33 worth of bumble and bumble products already on the back of this thread. Damn! I knew I should never have looked at this, thanks purple !

Dream Curls spray was amazing. I use the one for blondes now. I am not blonde...

Phillip Kingsley Instant Beach is fabulous but very expensive. I am going to get some for my holiday. But it's £22!!!

Revlon Curly Orbital curl cream or Moroccan oil curl cream - love both!

AngelaKardashian · 12/07/2017 22:16

Flourish I buy it from here. You still have to pay shipping but it's UK based so not astronomical! Because I love it so much I always buy 3-4 at a time so I qualify for free delivery and have enough to last a long time!

Upanddownroundandround · 12/07/2017 22:18

Frizzease Dream curl spray. Head upside down, spray and scrunch damp hair.

Purplerainbow · 13/07/2017 10:04

Ok.... iv managed to get a couple of the cheaper products to try. I have the flirty one and the John Frieda one and I DID manage to buy the boots own pink curl creme in my local boots.. if it works I will buy the lot!

Am loving this thread. Do you tie your hair up at night after the first day? If so, how do you get the curls back on day 2? I can look OK on day 1 but by day 2 I look like a lion that's been electrocuted. I have long, wavy/ frizzy/ uneven curly hair if that makes a difference.

Purplerainbow · 13/07/2017 12:11

My hair is half way down my back so I have to tie mine up but I have to wash mine every day otherwise it's greasy and dank so I have to start again each day but then I don't do 'curly girl' and I think the rules are very different!

The product I keep coming back to is TIGI Catwalk Curls Rock Amplifier (I usually buy it off Ebay, though once found it going cheap in B&M Bargains!). Good definition but any crispiness goes as soon as you scrunch it.

Have been through a whole load of others in the past - my curls are pretty temperamental, plus I keep changing my hairstyle, so I don't stick with many products for long... The John Frieda salt spray was good, as was Phillip Kingsley waterproof mousse.

justkeeponsmiling · 13/07/2017 13:39

Those of you recommending the Phillip Kingsley instant beach spray, do you use it on wet hair or dry? Or both?
Purple please report back what you think of the products you bought. I'm definitely over-invested in this thread due to my obsession to achieve perfect hair every day! Seriously, I love having curly hair most days but it's so moody isn't it? Doesn't matter what I do, I can never predict what it may look like on any given day - could be perfect, could be dragged-through-a-hedge, could be Dianna Ross. Drives me mad some days!

Purplerainbow · 13/07/2017 16:01

just I hear you!!

I will definitely report back!

I use instant beach on wet hair. It's the best thing I have ever used for my hair.

justkeeponsmiling · 13/07/2017 21:55

hoolio can I ask, do you use it on dripping wet or damp hair. (I may have just ordered a bottle off ebay, only sample sized though...)
