Hair experts needed-Best product for sleek hair

I need hair help please!
Whenever I go on holiday (or it's above 25 degrees in U.K.) I get big fluffy hair. It's not really frizzy, more big soft and fluffy like it's absorbed any humidity from the air.

I have to put my hair up every night when I go out, but I prefer it down. What products can I use? Will spend up to £30 for a product that works.

My hair is quite fine and the try that goes dry when not washed, rather than greasy. It's cut every 8 weeks, but is highlighted so hair is 'damaged'.

I have thick coarse hair so this might not work for you but I use herbal essence Argon oil shampoo and I put serum in my hair when it's soaking wet so before I put my towel on it then style it as normal. seems to work a treat which is a revelation in this hot weather as I have a 20s style short bob with fringe!

Which serum do you use? I've found some to make my hair look shinier when fluffy Shock but not that have helped to make it sleeker.

I'm wondering whether I need to start a 3 week prep (time left until holiday) of masks and moisturising products? There are so many products, I don't know where to start.

Generally I use good old frizz ease but I have had good results with other serums! I don't think it really matters. I think the key is putting it in soaking wet hair.

I like L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil. Apply a few drops to the mid lengths and ends of damp hair before drying. It's not greasy and doesn't weigh your hair down but seals the hair against moisture. Applying serum on dry hair doesn't really work for me.

You can also use it as a treatment. Comb through wet hair, stick a shower cap on for an hour and then shampoo out.

That said, if it's very hot or I'm on holiday, I'll always put my hair up. Could you experiment with some up styles? Lots of ideas on You Tube.
