Eyeliner for a 6 year old

My dd is 6 years old and loves dancing. She has a show coming up soon and is about to start performing at dance festivals.

I'm struggling with the required/heavily recommend stage make up though...

Two things really - I've never mastered eyeliner on myself. So if anyone has any tips or tricks or links which help me to achieve a fine line but with flicks but which doesn't look like I've drawn it on her with my own eyes closed I'd really appreciate it.

Secondly, I've had a few practice goes with liquid liner, but after half an hour or so she has said it's a bit itchy where the attempted flicks are. Obviously I washed it straight off! Are there brands or types which are gentle enough for use on such young skin?

If I can't solve this, of course I will just tell her she can't have make up at all until she is much older, but I thought this would be a good place to ask!

I use surgical tape! There's lots of tutorials out there on youtube using tape to help. The NYX brand is good.

Ooh, thanks I'll have a look at that one. I did have a quick look the other day but only found tutorials for quite heavy lines and it is being delicate I'm struggling with!

L'Oréal superliner - do a little flick and then the applicator is a long stiff point so if you PUT MASCARA ON FIRST resting it against the lid and draw along the stiffened lashes should do a nice line after a little practice x

Hello,

Just an idea but I used a by Terry eyeliner, brown with a slight shimmer, on my 7 year old, at her request, for school Egyptian theme day. Flicks and some undereye 'art'. I was totally surprised to see it all in place when I picked her up at the end of the day.

Thank you! See, I hadn't thought to do flicks first, I was working from the inside outwards which seemed logical at the time but I see getting the outside right first is better now. I think a bit of practice will improve things, fingers crossed!

I'm also slightly relieved I've had helpful advice rather than a mn slating for putting make up a child, so thanks again!

Face paint all the way, my girls have danced for 12 years (since age of 2) at competition level and have to wear heavy makeup

Honestly doesn't matter if it's quite thick as needs to be really once on stage and under lights
