Scissors for cutting long hair

Please help me MN, I've got long hair and want to try trimming it myself (with a bit of help from Dsis) to save money and time. I'm thinking it's worth a try as if it looks awful I can always make an emergency trip back to the salon! Could anyone recommend some good scissors?

Amazon is your best bet

Thanks posh, are there any particular brands or types you'd recommend?

I got tweezerman hairdressing scissors from boots so I can cut dds hair. They are really good

Honestly depends how much you want to spend !! All the cheaper makes are pretty similar and ok as long as you just use them to cut hair not fabric or paper !!! I would probably try the tweezermans ones as above if they are reasonably priced as their tweezers are excellent . Jaguar are a very good range with some medium priced sisoors but even that means £75+

I bought some Sanguine ones from Amazon. They're £12 and really sharp. I banned DH from ever using them for anything other than hair and I've been using them for my own hair, DH's hair and DS's hair for a couple of years. So far, so good.
