They have them in Aldi for £9.99 at the moment and I bought one on a whim!

Haven't used it so can't report yet!

Polar night! Spent hundreds on polar night teeth whitening after my orthodontic treatment-absolutely fantastic results and still pearly white 3 years later.

I got fleeced though. The orthodontist literally handed me the kit and read the instruction leaflet to me-the rest I did at home myself.

You can buy it for a fraction of the cost on line.

Polanight

Does that brand also come with the gum shield ?

Thanks

The orthodontist made mine but I think the online version sends a kit out for you to do your own.

Can you advise us what strength to use?

retainertrainer · 03/07/2017 11:24

The one my orthodontist prescribed was 16% carbamide peroxide gel 1.3g. SDI polanight.

I was told NOT to use it over night. I left it on for 20mins once a day and it really worked.

If you do buy it come back to this thread and I'll give you some more information on how to use it properly.

Following. Where's the best place to buy it? I have a guard from a cheapy whitening set I bought from Groupon years ago, can I use it with that?

What about the illuminate toothpaste? Does that help and where do you buy that?

retainertrainer · 03/07/2017 11:58

No idea sorry,I just got it through my orthodontist so you'd have to do a bit of research online-make sure you're getting the genuine product.

I don't see why a cheep mold wouldn't work. The only problem would be if the gels gets in prolonged contact with your gums so you'd have to be sensible and only use a very small amount for a short time period.

retainertrainer · 03/07/2017 11:59

I don't know about the toothpaste,I only used the gels. I would imagine a toothpaste from this brand would work though-could be worth a try first.

I do it naturally it's cheaper and works well. I use oil pulling. Also you have to watch red wine, coffee and tea intake (which discolour teeth).

DH spends a fortune on those bleaching toothpastes , he might as well dig a hole and throw his money down it!!

alpacasandwich · 03/07/2017 16:43

I use Crest Whitestrips that I buy online.

Orangebird69 · 03/07/2017 16:46

Any of the products you can buy over the counter won't be very effective as by law they're not allowed to contain enough bleaching agent to make any difference. Buy some Cresta whitestrips from ebay (American production) or fork out at the dentists...
