Curly girl method

Hi there, has anybody used the curly girl method? I've been reading about it online after seeing it mentioned on here. I've found a bottle of conditioner which doesn't have any of the forbidden ingredients in it and I've got an old t shirt to dry my hair with. Don't have any gel though. So I reckon I'm gonna start it tomorrow.

I wonder if I'll get greasy hair as my hair gets used to it. I'll see how it goes I suppose.

Yes I'm 6 weeks in. Found the Facebook group v helpful
Don't forget to do a final sulphate wash (no silicones!) to get rid of any silicone

I follow elements of it. No shampoo has been near my hair for about 20 years. I don't remember it being greasy when I started but it did take my hair a couple of weeks to adjust.

I've stopped using shampoo, no harm done there, seems fine as a result. I deep condition once a week and use treseme to wash in the shower every day and I have to use gel - umberto - otherwise I'm a frizz ball.
However I'm afraid I straighten whenever the occasion calls for it, ie I want to look nice. Bottom line for me is that curls are fine day to day, but any time I want to look glam and as if i've made an effort - even though we all know we've made a huge effort daily with curls to just not look like we've been electrocuted, it's off to the hairdressers for a blow dry.

I tried it earlier this year. The first couple of weeks were a bit hit and miss. There were days when I looked like I'd been pulled through a hedge. After about a month my hair felt grim, coated and dirty. I tried gel and boots curl cream , the cream was definitely worse. I stuck it for a few days, hoping it would get better but it didn't.

I'm back to waves some days, more curls other and a bit of frizz chucked in ,I can use some serum to calm the frizz if I need to. I can blow dry it and make it bouncy and swishy too so all in all it's easier for me not to do cc method

Thanks all. I blow dried and straightened my hair this morning so I'm not sticking to the rules too strictly. Tomorrow is the first day that I wash with conditioner so I'll see how it goes..
