Festival wear if size 16

ladybirdsarelovely33 · 29/06/2017 23:37

I am going to a festival for the first but am not camping too much of a stretch for me
I am in my 40s and going with friends. Can anyone advise me as to what to wear? Not a good idea for me to be showing too much flesh but a bit is ok.

Playsuits are a nightmare at festivals. Going to the toilet with one on isn't easy.

I usually wear a dress, black tights and wellies and a nice rain jacket. Something like this - m.asos.com/glamorous/glamorous-festival-button-front-dress-in-floral-print/prd/7579945?affid=14179&channelref=product%20search&mk=abc&currencyid=1&ppcadref=761030380|39786599203|aud-234508750992:pla-296301190773&gclid=CjwKEAjwytLKBRCX547gve7EsE4SJAD3IZV6NJKZv1DXf89FrL0ZKDyh1mNWA-TWjOlp9c7FaPZCVRoCOc3w_wcB

I'm about a 14/16 and I love those cold shoulder tops or gypsy tops with shorts or rolled up jeans depending on the weather:

Otherwise a plain top and boho kimono would be nice, there are some gorgeous ones out there at the moment that hide a multitude of sins (not that you need to, but I feel a bit exposed in shorts and a strapping top so perfect for me)

Layers! Dress or shorts and T-shirt/ skirt and T-shirt that can have leggings, pashmina, hoody and waterproof layered over the top. Hair wrap and or sunhat. Thin shirt as extra layer - can be useful to protect back of neck/arms from sun

Or a lightweight khaki parka i wore last two years actually not a rain jacket.

PandaG · 29/06/2017 23:44

I'm all about keeping warm/cool/not sunburnt rather than fashion!

tigerdriverII · 29/06/2017 23:45

Exactly what Panda said!

It can get chilly in the evening (bloody freezing tonight!)

PossibiliTea · 29/06/2017 23:46

Or a strappy top! Depends what you are comfortable in normally

What do you wear on your feet too? I only have wellies or trainers.

Dubarry boots or Converse

I'm in Scotland, only ever wellies. Even if the sun's been shining it will still be a mud bath!

Im 33 and size 16. Usually wear hiking boots, comfy slouchy ski socks, leggings, stretchy dress type things from bench or charity shops, light rain coat, pretty scarf thing, wild hair, lots of glitter. If its sunny then sundress, cardi, scarf and ankle boots without a heel, like DMs or trainers.

I like to go cozy and comfy (mainly so i can nap in my clothes) and use accessories like scarves, hair chalk for colour, glitter, facepaint necklaces etc to get the festie look. Layers you can take off easily and wrap around your waist. Big oversized fleece for when it gets cold later on.

I like to wear bra sports tops with lots of straps or get one of those harness things to go over the bra but under a dress to achieve a kinda strappy look which is a bit sexy. I enhance my boobs to hide my tummy.

ladybirdsarelovely33 · 30/06/2017 09:44

feelingblue I don't think I could get away with the bra sports top and harness things!
