I'm looking for a charcoal grey, matte, liquid eyeliner

• black is too harsh, and though dark brown could work, it's often so dark it's almost black. Can't get on with Bobbi Brown gel pots - they dry up too quickly and I didn't get a smooth line anyway. Pencils smudge.

Any recommendations?!

Have you tried the Avon glimmersticks? (Half price at min-£3!!!). I found these easy to use, loads of colours too and I'm rubbish with eyeliner so got mine tattooed on! 2 years of perfect eyeliner!

No, I haven't! Do they smudge? My eyelids have started to sag so anything that doesn't have super staying power tends to transfer onto them.

No7 stay perfect pencil doesn't smudge and has a sharp line
Dark brown or charcoal grey - I alternate and they both a great and smooth with a touch of gleam
I blot my eyelids first as my moisturiser is greasey
