Very short hair + classic perm, what percentages are we giving on the outcome of my ending up with a Keegan? Shall we run a book?

I've booked the appointment. It's not that bad a look is it? In the grand scheme of things?

You'll be fine. Good luck.

HemanOrSheRa · 01/07/2017 19:17

Honey where are you? Are you out swishing your fabulous hair? You are, aren't you Envy?

ophiotaurus · 01/07/2017 19:20

Did it go well?

HoneyDragon · 01/07/2017 19:26

Not yet I'm booked for Tuesday and they are shut now till then so as I now have to pay for the appointment regardless I may as well have it done Grin

Oh you bad Honey Grin.

TheTombstonesMove · 01/07/2017 20:02

I'm excited by this thread. Y'know, I've never pictured you with short hair Honey. Or a perm.

Mind. Blown.

HoneyDragon · 01/07/2017 20:09

Current length of hair. This is the most recent picture I have. Hullygully was repeatedly punching me because I wouldn't take her for a walk. It was 35 degrees at the time, but she was still quite cross.Hmm

I reckon permed it'll be above my ears again.

The Great Perm Disaster of '92 was caused by me having very, very thick slightly wavy hair so I think you'll be ok. Will we be getting after pics? Cake

HoneyDragon · 01/07/2017 20:23

Obviously. Especially if it goes tits up. It's like a public service then.

Honey, for the record you are definitely young and pretty! Good luck with the perm.

HemanOrSheRa · 01/07/2017 20:28

Back in the Olden Days when I had perms AND worked in a hairdressers we were always told at least 1 inch loss of length. But you gain in volume. You want a spiral perm? So yes, it'll be above your ears. Just watch your fringe.

HemanOrSheRa · 01/07/2017 20:30

And if I may be so bold - a very tame hairstyle for you at the moment Honey Shock!

HoneyDragon · 01/07/2017 20:36

I know Herman. It was all part of a carefully constructed plan as I noticed I had LOADS of grey coming through. So shaved my head so it could all come out salt and pepper and I'd be very funky and glam.

But I shaved it all off and then it all geee back brown?! All the white and grey disappeared Confused

HoneyDragon · 01/07/2017 20:36

Geee is meant to be came

OP posts:
HemanOrSheRa · 01/07/2017 21:12

Hmmmm. Don't know what that is about Confused. You'd think it would be the other way round.

HoneyDragon · 01/07/2017 21:26

I know?

Theories are that maybe it was stress/lifestyle at the time. Bit I had a huge white streak and it's just gone.

zubaspal · 01/07/2017 21:33

As much as I'd like to the after photo 😉 don't do it!
You could always phone first thing on Tuesday and ask if you could have a colour instead, saves you being out of pocket.
If I were you I'd wait until it was a bit longer before thinking about a perm, saves you ending up with a granny perm. 😲

nancy75 · 01/07/2017 21:38

I'd be a bit concerned about your side fringe, it's going to be very short & curly Grin

HoneyDragon · 01/07/2017 21:40

There is rather a lot to go horribly wrong ....

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 01/07/2017 21:42

In Scotland a "spiral jobby"is NOT something you'd want on your head

ClarkeyCat · 02/07/2017 07:17

FinallyThroughTheRoof I've got tears in my eyes

petitesassygirl · 02/07/2017 08:01

You might have inadvertently upped your vitamin B intake, - it can turn your grey hair back to brown

picklemepopcorn · 02/07/2017 08:02

The original photo is on someone with very thick, layered hair I think. Yours is less thick, and you don't want layers. I don't think you'll quite get that look. But it could still be lovely! And as you are comfortable with short hair, it's not as disastrous if it goes wrong!

petitesassygirl · 02/07/2017 08:02

Btw don't do it.......

SukiTheDog · 02/07/2017 10:42

HoneyDragon you're a grown woman and can do what you want but please, please DO NOT DO THAT
