Naked feet in shoes - how??

I don't think I have sweaty feet. My socks / liners / tights don't stink at the end of the day. Yet if I try to wear shoes with bare feet, I'm a sweaty, blistered mess within an hour.

Things I have tried:

  • lots of foot powder
  • spraying aerosol antiperspirant on my feet
  • shoes with soft leather inners
  • shoes with fabric inners
  • strappy sandals with minimum skin contact area

Every day in summer I see women stylishly striding around my city with bare feet in all kinds of shoes and sandals, while I try to get my "invisible" liners not to be so highly visible.

Has anyone overcome this? Help please!

Guilty! never gave it much thought sycamore...... but my feet are tough with hard skin on heels, I never wear socks with my Uggs in winter either - sis tells me its disgusting, but I don't have smelly feet. Maybe you have very soft skin on your feet? try to toughen them up?sorry not much help

Compeed do a stick with lubricant that you rub on your feet which stops them sticking and developing blisters

ceecee32 · 27/06/2017 16:26

Just adding to your cry for help - how on earth do you get those 'footsy' things to stay on your feet.

It's not so much the blisters, although thanks for the Compeed suggestion which I will try, as the general sweatiness. I have one pair of lovely soft leather (and leather inner) ballet pumps. I risked them once for a couple of hours on a medium-hot day and they have nasty foot stains in the insole now. I don't get it! My socks don't get ice like this, at all. Perhaps a mystery for the ages.

Omg I cannot wear shoes with nothing on my feet!!!!!!! If I've got trousers and ballet pumps on I wear those knee high nude sock things or if I had a dress on I woukd just wear nude tights... trainers of boots I would just wear normal socks.
I do think my feet are quite sweaty though

I never wear socks, ever. I don't know how I don't have blisters. I always wear super comfy shoes.

I think you may be one of the people like me whose feet sweat. When you wear socks it soaks in but not enough for you to notice..but in bare feet it goes into the shoe.

I've got some leather lined shoes and my feet still sweat

Whiterabbitears · 27/06/2017 17:01

I never wear socks either and my feet don't seem to sweat much, but I do have tough thick elephant skin feet. Maybe the tough rough skin helps the sweating? A weird bonus of having gross feet!

Only wear socks in winter and autumn. My feet are permanently in either sandals or pumps the rest of the time. I've recommended the scholl ice spray already this week. Lovely wee treat Sycamore. My feet aren't sweaty but they do get very hot sometimes and this stuff is great for cooling them down.
