What shoes with this dress?

Planning to wear this dress to a late summer wedding, in a country house. What shoes would you pair it with? I can cope with heels!

NOT the ones in the picture.

KnittingPearl · 25/06/2017 18:24

I would probably pick up one of the colours in the dress, rather than a neutral shoe, as it would make it more interesting. Concur fully not the model's shoes! It needs something much less clumpy.

KnittingPearl · 25/06/2017 18:31

What is your budget?

Rinceoir · 25/06/2017 19:13

I'm flexible enough on budget, happy to pay for something I'll wear again. Agree about model's shoes!

Red stilettos and red clutch or the baby blue.

KnittingPearl · 25/06/2017 19:15

Are you hatting or a bit more casual?

KnittingPearl · 25/06/2017 19:16

I'd go with either red or blue, perhaps a blue tending towards cobalt if you think it would work with the blue in the dress?

Rinceoir · 25/06/2017 19:19

Oh I'd love a hat. If anyone can suggest one of those too?! Not casual!

You could match shoes and hat, or go neutral for one and colourful for the other. I would probably wear a cream hat (easier to wear again) and go for colourful shoes, but if you looked into hiring a hat you would have more options.

What size shoe?

Rinceoir · 25/06/2017 19:29

I have tiny feet, size 4 and narrow. Yes I think a neutral hat maybe for future use. Although I have dark hair and pale skin so a bright hat might suit better?

I'm fairly useless at putting outfits together!

Wedding is in Ireland so I'm not sure hiring a hat will work. Unless anyone can recommend a Dublin supplier?

Is this a possibility? Or do you want a hat hat rather than a fascinator type thing?

Intransige · 25/06/2017 20:01

Or this is also a bit flowery which picks up the dress pattern.

SharkSkinThing · 25/06/2017 20:02

Can't seem to link from here, but a second on the clogs: Seasalt have some beautiful ones and well priced.

Gorgeous dress.

KnittingPearl · 25/06/2017 20:03

Ooh, I like that - I think this sort of dress lends itself better to a fascinator or hairpiece rather than a hat, much as I am a fan of a good hat.

KnittingPearl · 25/06/2017 20:03

Took too long to post - I like both of those.

Rinceoir · 25/06/2017 20:13

The Boden shoes are lovely, are they wide fitting? I love clogs but think I need a bit of a heel on the day.

Headwear wise I prefer hats but would take a larger fascinator. I have a strangely large head, so nothing tight!

These red ones would look nice if they're not too bright in RL

KnittingPearl · 25/06/2017 20:29

Not sure how they fit I'm afraid.

Rinceoir · 25/06/2017 20:32

I love those! Conveniently there's a topshop by my office so may take a look tomorrow!

Apparently there's a milliner in the town I'll be staying in Ireland, maybe I'll email and see if they have anything that might work in stock. I like this but it might be too fussy?
