Best bronzer please

CandysKisses · 24/06/2017 07:59

I'm looking for a sun kissed look by means of a bronzer.

I've never used one before so hoping someone can give me advice on what to buy please?

Which is best? Or are they all pretty standard?

Benefit Hoola

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/06/2017 08:03

They tend to be glittery so I use a normal face powder in a much darker shade instead.

I never could see why bronze = shimmery.

DoorKnee · 24/06/2017 08:11

Bobbi Browns one is good, it's matt so very natural looking. Bourjois delice de poudre is also very good. It's matt as well.

wren23091 · 24/06/2017 08:15

L'Oréal does a fantastic matte bronzer that has a 'healthy' glow rather than an orange one - I'm pale as anything and it's my go-to. (Only about £8 too!)

LizTaylorsFabulousTurban · 24/06/2017 08:17

Benefit Hoola liquid is fab - matte so no shimmer. It looks really natural.

MissJC · 24/06/2017 08:18

Nars in the shade Orgasm. Pricey but has a fab rose gold glow on your cheeks!

Another Benefit hoola fan

Is the benefit hoola a liquid? Is that more like foundation?

I don't wear foundation so need something to go direct on my skin

Hoola definitely. It's a powder.

Cakescakescakes · 24/06/2017 08:57

Hoola is much much too dark for me. If you're pale it won't be for you either. I use the Bronze Goddess Ester Lauder one in the palest shade. Very natural and comes in a lovely big compact. Lasts years. Sali Hughes writes well on bronzer for beginners etc.

Shelvesoutofbooks · 24/06/2017 08:58

Benefit hoola has a light version now too

knowler · 24/06/2017 09:00

The Charlotte Tilbury filmstar bronze and glow is v expensive but I love it. Subtle bronzer to which you can add a highlighter if you want. Lovely packaging too.

FlyingSoloFlyingFree · 24/06/2017 09:02

The light Hoola is brilliant, perfect for paler skin - I really like the original but it's too dark for me.

LizTaylorsFabulousTurban · 24/06/2017 09:29

Hoola does come in a powder but I use the liquid. I'm pale (usually ivory or the like if choosing a foundation) but a little of the liquid goes a long way, especially if you use a blender.

ImADingleDangleScarecrow · 24/06/2017 09:33

I love Isadora bronzer in matte tan - not an ounce of glitter or sparkle in it. It's huge and lasts forever. They also do a smaller size for £16 I think.

m.feelunique.com/p/IsaDora-Big-Bronzing-Powder-35g

Geurlain bronzing powder is also good and is sparkle free. However is doesn't really justify the £36 price tag compared to the price of Isadora imo.

For a cheaper alternative Rommel also do a sparkle-free bronzer. Though bizarrely this is often by Rommel fake tans in Boots rather than at the Rommel make up stand.

I've never been overly fussed on Hoola.

ImADingleDangleScarecrow · 24/06/2017 09:35

This Rimmell one. You can also get a dark or medium matte too I think

Botanicbaby · 24/06/2017 10:44

I like the boots 17 shimmer bricks!! Especially the pinkish toned one as the brown/bronze-y one is too dark for me. Bloody well sold out everywhere I go now. The shimmer is just right for me not too cheap and sparkly looking. Apply lightly with a decent kabuki brush.

All this despite the fact I think the Bobbi brown shimmer brick is sheer hell!

OuchLegoHurts · 24/06/2017 11:08

Another vote for Hoola, I'm fair but it still looks really natural

seefeld · 24/06/2017 11:54

Hoola comes in a lighter shade now: Hoola Lite

seefeld · 24/06/2017 11:54

Oops just seen it's been mentioned already!

HLBug · 24/06/2017 11:56

Yup - another vote for Benefit Hoola - it's great!

Oldgranny · 24/06/2017 11:57

I should hope so after an orgasm 😂

lemonsandlimes123 · 24/06/2017 13:11

Nars orgasm is a blusher! Don't use it as a bronzer, you will look v odd! Hoola is good but v dark IMO. I really like Chanel Les beiges powder, it comes in various shades depending on your normal skin tone.

CandysKisses · 24/06/2017 20:48

I've just ordered the benefit hoola. For those that use it - do you use the brush that it comes with or something else?
Also do you just highlight or use it all over your face?
