Please someone point me in the right direction. I love all the floaty styles, but they don't love me.

Try LadyV London. Lovely summer dresses for curves xx

I find those vintage-style (with modern fabric and twists) 1950's frocks serve the curvy shape best. Fitted boobs & waist, with semi-flared skirt to knees. Or the pencil/wriggle version if you're braver than I am. There are lots of U.K. brands doing them, Lindy Bop comes to mind although they are pretty hardcore vintage style. Try to find some with lots of cotton in the blend so you'll be cooler.

I find it pretty frustrating that hour glass shapes must resort to vintage shapes to look nice. I'm an hourglass but have a sharp modern bob and would look weird in a vintage dress ( although I love them on other people). Surely there are contemporary options too?

I'm a curvy hourglass and DPs have some quite nice cheap, lightweight summer dresses at the moment. Not my usual go to shop but I was surprised. Just bought this one.

Hardly fashion forward but I have a few Boden dresses which are good staples if you go for the plain versions. I suggest sizing down in both.

This Maxi dress:

This short dress (with pockets - great if you have small kids!)

For a floaty option I also recently bought this from Other Stories and really like it. It's viscose but has a nice quality. It has a hidden popper on the front so it doesn't gape. You could also put a vest underneath if it's too cleavagey! I have the vintage berry print version which is a flattering colour if you have pale legs like me!

My friend wears Joules riviera dresses but belts them right in. They look fab on her hourglass figure and I suspect the belt is the key or they'd look like sacks. I keep meaning to order one to try it because I'm the same shape.
