Do low, nice heels exist?

I'm 5'10 and whilst I don't usually mind and will whack normal heels on I'm going to a do with my friend who's only 5' so would rather not look huge and gangly next to her!

Can anyone recommend any nice, stylish but not too high heels? I usually think small heels look shit Blush. It's for a summery do so any style will go, can be a wedge, platform, stiletto etc (although I'd prefer a wedge or platform as they're comfier) but they could be like a heeled sandal too? Basically can you throw any ideas at me and I'll be grateful!

TIA!

I saw a woman this morning in the most gorgeous low block heeled silver sandals- she was the picture of cool summery elegance. I have been googling furiously all evening and the only ones I have found online that look exactly the same are in the US and are £425 Angry

I have recently purchased these silvery heels. Not too high and very comfy.
Although i did buy them from john lewis

I think that small or mid heels are hard to wear without looking a bit like 'amateur heel hour'. Also if you're tall, kitten heels can look like you're too big for them, if you see what I mean?

(I went out with a shortarse about 15 years ago so I've been through this thought process. I'm 5'8").

Frankly, I'd go with flat sandals as the only reasonable alternative to heels for a summer night out. You will still look fab of you go for glam ones.

Rieker often do nice very low heels
look on charles clinkard or amazon

Also, you won't look gangly next to your friend. You will look tall and elegant. If I go on a night out, I'm going out tall!

@WasabiNell I'm not usually a fan of low heels but the Valentino 'Rockstud' 65mm style is the exception. They're available in so many different colours and despite being pointy they are deceptively comfortable. I'm still able to wear them at almost 9 months pregnant, so that says a lot!

They come with a heavy price tag but if you have the budget to invest in a versatile and elegant pair of low heels, which you would get a lot of wear out of, then I would highly recommend them. I got my first pair in patent nude maybe 3 years ago and they're good as new and regularly worn to this day.

Thanks very much for the replies!

You're completely right Nettle, I'm now debating going in sandals or just going all out in normal heels!!
