False eyelashes

Is there any that are easier to put on than others? I really struggle for some reason.
I really want to wear some for a special occasion as my eyelashes are pretty sparse recently.

Trick is to wait at least 30 secs for glue to go tacky. Also you can get an aplication gadget which makes it a bit easier

Some good tips on YouTube.

WhatThePuck · 20/06/2017 09:20

I can never do them- bastards

If I ever use them I use the individual ones or corner ones

HotNatured · 20/06/2017 16:08

I consider myself a bit of an eyelash expert as I use them every day (I recommend Shu Uemura or Benefit, you have to spend a bit for quality). The eyelure crappy ones from Boots are awful to apply.

Its all about blending the fake lash to your own lashes:

Always cut them to size (obviously from the outer edge)
They shouldn't go all the way to the inner lash, this looks fake, I always leave a space (about a centimetre) this makes the lash 'blend' into my own lashes, looking more natural
I curl and use mascara on my own lashes first, just one coat, this helps to bond and blend the fake lash to your own
I use the clear white Duo glue, the others aren't as good, even the other Duo colour options
Make sure you use enough glue
Wait about 2 minutes or until the glue is tacky, a few seconds won't cut it, you need the glue to be at the perfect consistency; too wet and they won't bond and you'll get glue everywhere, miss the perfect 'tackiness' and the glue will be too dry
use your hands to position the lash, tweezers to gently secure to your own lashes
The process is actually very quick, easy and fuss free, takes me a few seconds every day
Don't panic, if it goes wrong, wipe off the glue and start again
You get used to it
Men often compliment me on my lovely long lashes Wink
Women often compliment me on my lashes and ask me where I get them done Grin (women aren't stupid)
I sometimes sleep in mine

I use pre glued ones , so much easier and stick straight away!

HotNatured · 20/06/2017 20:00

No offence, wuckfit, but they look a bit shit and easily come unstuck, not a good look !

BettySmut · 20/06/2017 20:09

HotNatured I am useless at false eyelashes so your advice is good. Can I ask, do you glue them to your lashes or eyelid? Everything I've seen suggests eyelid edge but I just can't do that at all! Any more tips would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry for intruding on your thread OP!

Tellmesomethingdifferent · 24/06/2017 08:39

Ive given it a go following your advice - not bad for a first attempt even though I did get glue all over my fingers!
I've no other make up on so think they will look better with some eyeliner etc

Wow they look great. Which lashes did you go for?

Tellmesomethingdifferent · 24/06/2017 08:51

I went for the Ardell Demi whispies with the duo clear glue.
I'm pretty chuffed I've managed to do it!
