How to look nice when casual day to day

I've really enjoyed the how to look expensive and the how to look cool threads.

What I think I need some personal work on is how to look "nice" just when pottering about the flat or "going to Morrisons" ?

So if I bumped into my crush BlushI would feel fine or if I bumped into friends and was randomly was invited out to drinks I'd be ok to go. But not in a dress or heels?

I am hourglass so can do going out posh glam sexyin a dress very, very easily

but seem to then easily drop about ten points in terms of looking and feeling put together when I'm not "dressed up"? I want to find the "in between" stage?

People have commented sometimes how I "look dressed up a lot" or how I "look posh" and although I take this as a compliment, and absolutely wouldn't change myself to suit others ( opposite in fact) I'd like to bring in more of a relaxed feel to my style, for myself ?

Thus far I have :

  • spent a lot of money ( it's ok, in budget) on more "nice casual stuff") like really well cut fleeces ( yes I know Grinbut trust me they are flattering)
  • Got some fat face dresses (second hand mainly) as I'm told they are quite good "casual dresses" and they don't look so formal what with the prints. I'm also an outdoorsy camper type so the brand feels authentic. The prints and cut feel a wee bit frumpy compared to "all black fitted" previous style but I'll adjust my eye!
  • going to try to defuzz, moisturise, and wash hair every day (gulp) I'm no makeup normally so no difference there.

Anyone in?
