What to wear for work when it's 32 degrees

My normal workwear is a pencil skirt and plain t shirt and cardigan with a jacket. I have a few nice dresses as well. I tend to wear opaque tights in the winter and lightweight tights in the summer as have not very nice veins on the back of one of my calves. I have a few longer non work skirts that I could wear so I could ditch the tights but they make me look dumpy unless I wear really high heels. This is bringing a new Sunday angst to the thought of going to work.

Cotton dress from fat face. Tomorrow I'm wearing my linen dress from next, and then I'm all out of suitable clothing! I thought I was ready for this but I wore my H&M pencil skirt on Friday and boy, was that a bad move!!

Please wear whatever you can get away with, thata comfortable. No one is looking at your veins or larger arms or whatever you (you as in everyone) are self conscious about.
Today at the school there was a lovely lady wearing a long coat with sleeves rolled slightly. She seemed very hot. I imagine as she's a bigger lady, she was too self conscious to show skin. And she wasn't the only one. It really saddened me that either people are so judgemental that she and others feel they have to cover up, or she is lacking on self esteem that she worries she is being judged.

Either way I really felt for her.

Today I wore a thin flippy skirt and a black vest top. Luckily our dress code is fairly casual..just no denim allowed.

Home in shorts and a vest now and hair scraped back in a bun. It's very warm. I do not envy any Londoners commuting this week.

Wide baggy linen trousers and a lightweight t shirt. I work in a Victorian primary school where the walls are very thick and my office always on the cool side - thankfully.

Wrap dresses with short sleeves, no need to worry about cardigans or jackets this way.

Loose linen trousers or smarter hareem pants and a light t shirt. I work in a school and one side of the classroom is all glass... facing the sun for the whole morning. It was like an oven today . A few of the teachers were in shorts, and one was wearing a hawaiian shirt Grin

One of the younger TAs was in a play suit...I did think that was going a bit too far!

Our office is aggressively air conditioned so I wore a summer dress to get to work then added a cardigan and a jacket when I got in. I even felt a bit annoyed I hadn't packed tights.
Planning to work from home for next couple of days so I can avoid the hot sticky commute, so will work in my underwear and have a dress handy to throw on if the postman knocks Grin

Found a nice longer skirt and top in the depths of my wardrobe and some high heeled sandals (have flat commuting shoes) now have to find something for tomorrow and Wednesday. This is too hard!

I live in Karratha - the desert - this is my daily life !

Shirtdress, fake tan. I'm a size 14/16 in my 40's and naturally pale but I'm not overheating for anyone as I'll faint. Shirt dresses are smart enough.

I have lived in a v hot climate - difference is it is generally geared up for the heat. We are not used to it in the UK, no (in my case) or little air con, wardrobe full of cool clothes etc., etc..

Even when I worked in London in an air conditioned building the trains and tubes were grim - truly grim.

I love the Hawaiian shirt idea still, that would brighten up any hot school day Grin.

12 degrees cooler here in the North today.
