Hi lovelies 😊
Seriously stuck in a fashion hell rut ! I'm 40, size 16 (lumpy butt n not so great legs) 🙄

Hubby is taking me out for a meal next week - nothing fancy - just a casual place - I have sod all to wear !

Is the attached pic a nice outfit to wear ? Could I get away with it ? I have dark inverted bob hair ( not long n blonde n lush sadly)

Thx in advance !

I don't want to sound mean but if your bum and legs are not your best features then I don't think those trousers will be too flattering as they look quite unforgiving. What are your best features? I would go for something that emphasised those.

JuicyCake · 15/06/2017 10:25

I'm a bum & thighs shape & wouldn't go near these trousers. The top is nice. I'd try it with jeans.

Crochita · 15/06/2017 10:34

No to the trousers. They will not be flattering at all.

The top is a bit barmaid as well!

DragonBone · 15/06/2017 10:37

Lol oh my life ok see I'm so out of touch ! 😂

I bet that model is really slim but those trousers don't even flatter her thighs. I'm a size 12 and I wouldn't wear them.

What are your best bits OP?

DragonBone · 15/06/2017 10:57

Best bits and nice waist and top half - I have nice décolleté (hence the Bardot style top)
Might have to resort to black jeggings 😬

How about nice jeans, a plain vest top and a long sheer/chiffon blouse undone worn as a lose jacket. Buy a size bigger for a loose fit.

imjessie · 15/06/2017 11:16

Wouldn't a dress be better ?

newdocket · 15/06/2017 11:42

I'm not a massive fan of the top but if you have nice shoulders/decollete it might look good, maybe with jeans as pp said

SilentlyScreamingAgain · 15/06/2017 13:22

That top would also cover up a nice waist.

Depending on how you feel about your arms, I think this dress would look good on the shape you've described:
