Which hair product

Have just had my hair cut into a 'pixie bob' so short at back graduated into longer front/top. A bit like Emma Willis or frankie Saturday when she was on strictly (rofl at even writing that comparison but you get the idea).

My lovely hairdresser knows I'm crap with hair and made me promise to make an effort with it or he'd refuse to do it. He cut it as idiot proof as he could and did a wonderful job. Today I managed to get it looking goodish with out using heat (by pulling it on top of my head really tightly to dry). I wasn't going out today so just left it with no product but I want to try and replicate this on a work day and want it to look a bit textured and piecey iyswim just to funk it up a bit.

I have wax and texture gum but that doesn't work. I also have the bumble and bumble air dry cream which I love and will try tomorrow. What else can I try which is really light (my hair is fine) but helps with textures and shine.
