How to style a midi skirt

I tried a midi skirt in today for the first time and I loved it! It was black cotton from Next for a very reasonable £24. But I didn't buy it because I'm paranoid about looking frumpy!!!

How would I go about styling this type of skirt???

I would be very anxious about the frump factor in that skirt, so I'm afraid I can't help.
I do like the more 50s shape ones that come in lovely colours.
I bought a lace midi dress recently and when my husband saw it on me he thought it was really old fashioned so I'll wear that on a night out with the girls as they all like it! 😂

I love a midi skirt but I think it needs to be longer and fuller. How cool are you feeling?

I just couldn't. My mum had an identical one in 1983.
(I do wear fuller slightly-50s ones and I style them with fitted tops so avoid looking sacklike)

It's a dilemma.... my mum also wore stuff like this when I was a kid. I'm approaching 40 and live in fear of being a frump! I couldn't wear a printed one - I'm not even close to being cool so I'd look ridiculous!
