I'm a 34A and need a bra overhaul! Where do you buy yours?

I'm about that size. It depends what type of bra you like. I prefer non-padded, non-wired bralet/te(?) type bras. I sometimes wear crop tops and training bras aimed at 12-13 year old girls.

My faves are from: Primark, American Eagle, American Apparel, Victoria's Secret... I also get a lot from ASOS - brands like Undiz, Bjorn Borg, CK, Tommy etc have a range of sizes.

NatureIsAWhore · 11/06/2017 18:24

Thanks mine
I prefer unpadded and no wire for comfort but I'd like to have a padded one too, to stop nipples showing in work!

Check the bra threads. I spent years believing I was a 36a. A 32c actually fits! The straps don't fall down and my clothes look much better.

mocha78 · 11/06/2017 19:44

Like Mayhew I too fit a 32C best after spending all my 20s in a 32A -if you were to see my breasts though there is no way you would think I was a c cup, more an a, having children has changed them somehow but not made them look bigger! To be honest I haven't tried many brands but nearly all of mine are m and s, a couple of Victoria's secrets. I recently got a great strapless bra from a random brand called B'tempted I found in my local house of fraser (30C fitted me best in that). Maybe try a department store with a variety of brands to try.

MineKraftCheese · 11/06/2017 20:14

Re the nipples thing, I got these sort of silicon pads about the size of your nipple that you stick on - I use these with or without a bra to hide nippage! (When wearing thin fabrics etc) They were from Primark but may be sold elsewhere.

LockedOutOfMN · 11/06/2017 20:19

I'm a 32 or 34 A too and have recently got into the no-wire lace bra tops from New Look. Have lots of much loved bras from Victoria's Secret and Calvin Klein as well as women.secret (a chain store we have in Spain, not sure where else they have branches).

Can you give your measurements under bust and on the bust to see if you are really a 34A. It would be quite an unusual size if you measure properly.

PaperdollCartoon · 11/06/2017 20:28

Check you're actually wearing the right size before paying out Smile fab calculator below.

Thanks all.

I'm definately flat chested! But could do with popping in to shop for measurements. I'll try m&s for that, thanks.

Thanks for tip mine I'll have a look.

I'm going to get the tape measure out now :)

okay, I'm a 32 under bust and a 34 on the fullest part of bust.

I'm a 32c and like Triumph.

annandale · 11/06/2017 20:49

Sounds like a 32B? (no expert but looking on that site).

NatureIsAWhore · 11/06/2017 20:53

lol paper I've just tried that link and it says to start with a 32C.

I know a few of you have said that you measure a C after kids/being 20. But there's no way I can believe I'm a C. They're like puppy's noses!

PaperdollCartoon · 11/06/2017 21:16

You'd be surprised! I used that calculator then went and got measured and it was right. Most women are wearing bras that are too big on the band and too small on the cup. I'd go try a load on. The cup should be flush to your breast and the band should be quite tight.

frenchfancy · 11/06/2017 21:18

Do not go to M&S they will likely put you in a 36a.

NatureIsAWhore · 11/06/2017 21:30

That's one reason I don't wear a bra very often paper I hate how tight the band feels.

Where would you recommend french Or anyone?.... The last time I was measured was years ago in debenhams but I don't live near one now, nor a john lewis

OP posts:
AWaspOnAWindowInAHeatwave · 11/06/2017 21:31

Seriously, you're a 32b/c with those measurements. M&S don't measure properly. You'll end up with a 36/38a and it'll ride up your back.

TooMinty · 11/06/2017 21:37

I have just ordered some 30C bras from Princesse Tam Tam - will report back when they arrive to let you know if they are any good! They look nice online... They have padded and also soft bralette styles.

PaperdollCartoon · 11/06/2017 22:11

They will be tight when you first try them but loosen up. It's like shoes, they need a bit of wearing in. Agreed that M&S are shit and don't know what they're doing.

BagelGoesWalking · 11/06/2017 22:29

All my life I've worn a B cup. Since using the proper Mumsnet measuring, I'm a DD!! It's not so much that the cup is just bigger, it covers a larger area, IYSWIM, so you don't have the overflow at the sides, near your armpits. I've also gone down to a 34 from a 36, probably should be a 32 but I've been so used to a loose band, a 32 feels very tight, so compromised on a 34.
If you can, take loads of bras of different sizes, styles and brands and try on. It may be that a balcony bra is better than a push up, for example. You just have to try as many as possible. Good luck!

joangray38 · 12/06/2017 00:32

I wear American apparel and Marie meli

TooMinty · 14/06/2017 20:17

Princesse Tam Tam padded bras in 30C have arrived - comfortable, look good, fit nicely 👍

Sadly the "Air" bralette in Small is too loose in the band for me - however I do measure 29" on the rib cage so if you are a true 32" then might be ok. I'm gutted as the fabric feels amazing, lovely and soft...

My faves are from &otherstories, although I buy a 34c having thought I was a 32b forever. They are lacy bralets but I never have any nippleage I don't think...
Cost about £25 so not cheap but wash well and never get uncomfortable. I used to like topshop bralets but they don't last long enough and I feel like a dinosaur shopping for them.

NatureIsAWhore · 15/06/2017 20:12

Thanks all, I'll take a look!
