Wedding guest dress with short sleeves

Please help MN, I'm going to a family wedding next month, it's the first chance I've had to dress up since having DS and really want something nice to wear. I'd like a brightly coloured dress with short / mid length sleeves (not keen on showing the tops of my arms due to eczema). I've seen the dress in link below in coast but can't find it available in my size (size 10) anywhere. If anyone knows where I can get the dress in my size, or has any suggestions of something similar, I'd massively appreciate it! Grin

This is beautiful, if your budget can stretch to it.

OlennasWimple · 10/06/2017 22:45

The Irish Next website has it

Do you live near a city with decent department stores? One of them might have it in stock

OlennasWimple · 10/06/2017 22:56

The dress in your OP is quite white, though - are you sure it will be OK to wear to the wedding?

Alternative suggestions:

White but more pattern

Love this blue

Pretty if you can wear yellow

Great if you have good legs

Bolder colour

Elegant

Red

Thanks for taking the time to reply all, I really like the holly willoughby dress and mrs choppers first option, but as Olenna pointed out, maybe they're all too white despite the floral patterns, especially as I started thinking about what the bride (my lovely cousin) would wear and it occurred to me that she's not hugely traditional so she likely might not go with a long traditional type dress and might go for something shorter. Do you all think the original coast dress or the holly w dress are too much if the bride opts for a shorter white dress, especially as we look very similar height and figure wise?! If so, I'll step away from those options! If not, Olenna do you know if I can order from the Irish next to deliver to England?

Unfortunately the lk bennet dress is beyond my budget, I'm thinking £150 absolute max. The Hobbs blue dress is gorgeous as is the phase eight navy dress, I did have floral in my head, but I might reconsider given how lovely they are!

I do like this pink dress from coast but it's pushing the budget and not sure if it's too ott/little girlie/ballerina-ish?! I've been out of the style game / had a minimal non baby related social life for the last year so just don't know if I can trust my taste! Your opinions are so helpful! www.coast-stores.com/p/abbey-print-surana-dress/1808198?gclid=CLbwkay5ttQCFS637QodWVMPpA

I don't know about the Irish Next site, sorry, but they have a live chat function on there so you could ask?

But given what you have said about your cousin, it might be safest to avoid anything too similar to what she might be wearing (could you ask her / your aunt to check?)

Personally, I like dresses that look like dresses, rather than dresses that look like skirts and a top, but that's just a taste thing. Are you going to have a small baby with you at the wedding? Do you need to think of a colour / pattern that might be forgiving of a little baby related stain or two...?

bitofabelly · 12/06/2017 06:59

I really like that pink dress...delighted you like the holly willoughby dress....it's actual more cream than white as I don't often wear white. You could check...it's a knock out dress on....that said the pink one is fab..and girlie is good...it's elegant and classy x

MissWimpyDimple · 12/06/2017 08:48

The pink coast dress is lovely.

StrawberryLemon · 12/06/2017 14:51

Thanks all, do really like the pink coast dress, I'm quite into the skirt and top look. Olenna has a point re the messy toddler though! ShockHmmmm, maybe it would be ok if I was armed with a good supply of baby wipes?! Has anyone seen any new nice skirt and top combos in less pale easily destroyed by a toddler colours?!Smile
