Want to paint my nails for an upcoming wedding- Shellac/similar wreck my flimsy nails for a few weeks after it comes off and I don't plump for bright colours usually as I chip to high heaven.
I'm wearing navy so was thinking a pinky neutral? Any recommendations? X

I love Mavala polishes.

I find they are the most chip proof, especially with a top coat.

My favourite neutrals are Rose Dust 164 and Rose Shell 162.

It took me ages to find good neutrals and these are the best!

I was a devotee to OPI for years then one day I was reminiscing about the first ever time my nails were painted. It was 1971 and my mother painted them navy by mavala.

I bought some mavala and haven't looked back. I love mavala, beautiful colours and very long lasting.

Essie Mademoiselle is my favourite, it was recommended by a nail technician and she was right.

MeganChips · 08/06/2017 21:01

It's not pink but in case you fancied something else, this is my favourite ever neutral.

I love Mavala.
Riga is my favourite.
And Rosa, but that's brighter.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 08/06/2017 21:02

Arosa.

JDSTER · 08/06/2017 21:03

Essie mademoiselle for me too. Recommended years ago before you could even buy in U.K. and I bought some in the US and have been using it for about 15 years!

Essie ballet slippers is my go to pinky neutral - I have it on right now.

Tatlerer · 08/06/2017 21:29

You guys are the best! Thank you!!

Essie Fiji is pretty but I'd go for gel polish for true no chip for a special occasion.

Hmmm I found it went really patchy on me. I love the Mavala ones though.

OCSockOrphanage · 09/06/2017 13:29

Essie, definitely, but they make a lot of neutrals and nudes and you need to decide which looks good against your skin. I have Vanity Fairest.

ChippyMinton · 09/06/2017 13:43

A darker neutral I like is No7 Rose Mocha or pale gold Golden Sands (both 'gel finish' and pretty hardwearing with a Sally Hansen base and top coat).

Ktown · 09/06/2017 14:29

Rose dust is beautiful and looks beige in some lights, pink in others and sparkly in the sunshine

3dogsnorth · 09/06/2017 15:52

Christian Dior nail glow is fab. It's clear but has a pinky tone that makes your nails look like a French manicure and you don't notice it wearing off

theclick · 09/06/2017 15:53

I love Shellac romantique but it's hard to find a salon that uses it.

ArseyTussle · 09/06/2017 16:10

Where do you get Mavala from? Their website doesn't seem to be a shop.

comeagainforbigfudge · 09/06/2017 20:07

Oooh i love mavala. No colour recommendations as i pretty much only wear red. Moscow, should you be interested.

I get mine in john lewis.
