The summer sales are starting - isn't it a bit early?

I walked into Hobbs yesterday as they had sales signs splashed across the windows. It's barely June, I spoke to an assistant who seemed very surprised by it. Last night I had an email from Whistles announcing their sale preview. The Mulberry sale preview is on ahead of their sale next week. Anyone else receiving offers or finding sales? I'm going on a spending ban if it's all about to start. My husbands birthday is mid July and I associate that with the summer sales usually.

Ooh, I came over here to see if there were any posts about summer sales. I keep looking for net a porter and Anthropologie. Think it does tend to be June.

The High Street fashion shops are struggling!!! They always start sales early in this scenario. The business news is full of high street woes.

Apparently some retailers have been trying not to discount too regularly e.g M&S to keep profit margins up but I imagine sales figures must be down this year. Combination of higher prices and some really crap clothes around this year!!
