Fake tan question

calmday · 07/06/2017 11:39

I want to buy fake tan but there's something I'm wondering - I sweat a lot at night due to a medication I'm on. Will this cause the tan to become uneven? I sweat so much that my pyjama top is often wet. Does this mean I can't use fake tan?
Thanks

Could be a problem. Could you maybe do the tan first thing in the morning & wash off at night instead? I just bought Bondi Sands mousse & used it for the first time at the weekend. It smells coconutty & dries to touch quite quickly & more importantly it didn't streak. It was the light/medium version rather than the dark so I could've done with another layer but it was good stuff. Would definitely work putting it on early & washing it off later.

Thanks Yeah I think I'm gonna tan in the morning and wash off in the evening instead.

How about the shower self tanners...St Tropez do one

HannahWayes · 08/06/2017 16:08

The shower self tanners don't work tbh

Cantamendusername · 08/06/2017 16:11

St tropez express mousse is really good leave on for 1 hour for a light tan, 2 hours for medium and 3 for dark.

Rantymare · 08/06/2017 16:13

Try one that goes on white and develops? Sorry can't think of any to hand. They tend to not rub off or come off wirh sweat

weatherbomb · 08/06/2017 16:13

Have you tried skinny tan? that's pretty good

wobblywonderwoman · 08/06/2017 16:13

Was going to recommend the one hour tan by st Tropez also - it is quite a nice tan. Could you put it on after work and shower off before bed (say three hours to get the best colour)

Christmastree43 · 08/06/2017 16:16

Can also recommend fake bake 60 mins tan though you don't go very dark if you do only leave it 60 mins - I leave it at least 3 hours.

OP I have also had no probs just getting dressed and going about my day after say 60 mins of being careful so you would be ok to do that

St Moritz tan does a tan in 3 hours I use this you can go light in 1 hour medium in 2 hours or dark in 3 hours! It's realllllly good! :)! Just make sure you scrub the night before and moisturise after you put on the tan to keep it moisturised and not going horrible!

Urglewurgle · 08/06/2017 16:18

I quite like the shower St Tropez. It's a gradual one so you won't go dark in one application. I'm pregnant and my skin's v sensitive so I couldn't sleep in tan at the moment and I took it away with us to Greece a few weeks back to give me a bit of colour.

If you can do it during the day and don't need to go out/put a bra on then go for it. Definitely don't get a cream/lotion/oil as they'll make you feel sweatier.

That said I'm quite a sweaty person (have had to change my jamas in the night due to being soaked through) and have never had an issue with it ruining my tan. Just make sure you're set/dry before going to bed.

HannahWayes · 08/06/2017 16:23

Have you ever considered sun beds OP?

calmday · 08/06/2017 19:46

If I have fake tan on during the day will it stain my bra??
Hannahwayes I used to use sunbeds but I wouldn't anymore, don't fancy skin cancer or premature ageing.

Wear a dark bra. Yes it does stain a bra.

retainertrainer · 08/06/2017 20:55

No sun beds!! Does anyone even use them anymore?

No7 do a great quick dry tan too.

Anchovies12 · 08/06/2017 21:03

I'd tackle the sweat problem. I swear by odaban, I spray it on at night once every 4 days or so and fake tan in between.

Imamouseduh · 08/06/2017 21:40

I often sweat at night and have never had any problem with any of the fake tanners I've used. I find st tropez gradual the best.

Also hate to burst your bubble but if you used to use sun beds the damage is already done.

PeachPlumPears · 08/06/2017 21:44

Sienna X HITT tan is designed to be washed off after an hour (it keeps on developing after you've washed it off.

I had the spray tan done last week and it was brilliant, had a shower after an hour, no stained bedsheets and lovely tan in the morning! It lasted well too
