My current pair have packed in and I'm now considering a pair of GHD's. The cheapest I've seen them is £88 and I'm wondering if there worth it or are there any cheaper which are just as good out there.

TIA

Having had 2 pairs over the past 14 years I'd say a thousand times yes. I've got thick curly hair and nothing else compares. They work out as great value per use over time as well. I actually came on to ask if anyone bought them recently because I've had my current pair 9 years and they've finally packed in so I'm trying to decide between a new 'classic' or a new 'gold' set.

I had a pair for ages - about 10 years, then the pair I replaced them with weren't as good.
I now have Cloud 9s which my hairdresser recommended and they are fab. Just as pricey but I like it that they have adjustable heat settings.

I have a pair of ghd's which I got about 10 years ago, they are still going strong if a little battered. They are fab, the pair my sister gifted me which are about 2 years old are awful, really really rubbish (probably why I ended up with them)

My others are cloud 9 and are way better than my new ghd's.

I heard that the makers of GHD sold out and now make Cloud 9s, so newer GHDs aren't as good.
That may be just hairdresser gossip, but it fits with my experience.

I've also got GHDs that are over 10 years old and still going strong. Based on previous threads on here, I'd be looking at cloud 9 as a replacement

I'm saving for cloud 9s too, they are meant to be much better than ghds
