Plus size REALLY waterproof coats

Hi, I'm looking for a size 20/22 waterproof coat. I really want a Barbour but they don't go that big.

Real life recommendations please?

Thank you Flowers

Landsend coats are good and many are waterproof.

But I've just looked at the website and the prices have shot up! The full range goes to a 20 and sizing is generous.

Sale prices are much more competitive, but they don't have all sizes. It's here if you want to browse

www.landsend.co.uk/Sale/Women/Jackets_Coats/ix-12091?prefn1=priceCode&prefn2=productCollection&srule=Price-Low-To-High&prefv1=2&prefv2=Lands%27%20End&brand=2&sz=all&endless=true

Trespass might be worth a look too.

Seasalt now go up to size 24 in some styles.

I've had ski jackets from them before and they've been very good. They go up to a 42" chest. Not sure that they have the same vibe as Barbour, but there's quite a range and you might like something!

Seasalt go to a 24 in some styles - certainly the Seafolly.

Thank you - I'll go and have a look (gazes at endless ☔️)

Regatta goes up to a 28 i think.

Nannplum666 · 07/06/2017 11:50

I got one of these from Next:
www.next.co.uk/g7576s9#756906

I love it - quite roomy and did go upto 22 but now sold out in 22 but I am a 18/20 and 18 still has room in it. I tried the 20 and it was too big.

Try Cotton Traders.

hollyisalovelyname · 08/06/2017 21:11

The Next one is only water resistant. Not waterproof. Big difference.

I've got a LandsEnd coat that is far too big for me (I got a 2XL as it was on sale) but I can't part with it....it's the best coat I've ever owned. It's a squall parka type, fleece lined and completely and utterly waterproof. It's gone through mud, hedges, you name it (I have a cocker spaniel) and it's been washed and tumbled dried to death but still looks as good as the day I bought it. I think I paid around £70 but they're significantly more nowadays but worth every penny. My other good coat is a Jack Wolfskin...ultra lightweight, and waterproof but again not cheap..Their largest size is around a 20 - 22.

I've got a landsend one that has a completely waterproof outer & hood with a detachable quilted down liner coat which makes it really useful. I've also got several of their other coats ( can't resist a sale bargain and have a thing about dressing for the weather) and I'd definitely recommend them whether they were in the sale or not. Sizes go to an American 3x which is about a 30 I think. I work on the principle that they sell well in the American mid west which does get a lit of weather.

queencrunch · 08/06/2017 21:20

Berghaus.

Have you tried men's barbours?

hollyisalovelyname · 15/06/2017 17:20

I think M&as have them in their Storm Wear range.
Thigh length jackets.

Another vote for Landsend. They do plus sizes. I've got a squall jacket and it's totally waterproof.
