Summer sandals for sightseeing citybreaks?

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 06/06/2017 07:31

I know there have been a few sandals threads lately, but I'm specifically looking for some that are comfortable enough, but still look reasonably good, to wear on a holiday that will involve a lot of walking around.

My feet are on the wide side, but not so much that I have to go for a specific wide fit? I'm thinking tan leather so they go with pretty much anything.

Any suggestions?

Try these wide fits from Clarkes these

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 06/06/2017 10:41

I like Hotter sandals for holidays like the tourist ones. But they may be considered fuddy duddy, I wouldn't say I live in the height of fashion.

CadiM · 06/06/2017 10:58

I wore these Teva Kayenta on my last holiday. They were very comfortable for walking miles in 40 degree heat and they're relatively attractive for walking sandals. I got them in black suede.

SpeckledyHen · 06/06/2017 10:59

I have wide feet and live in Gabor sandles as they are so comfortable .

Teva kayentas.

Your thread title is really testing my lisp.

AnnaNimmity · 06/06/2017 11:29

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure why you have to wear such ugly sandals to walk around in a city?

I wear these wedges alot - they are so comfortable and flattering.

I've also got these from Zara, sorry not leather and they look nice as do these - they are leather

these also my go to sandals for lots of walking they have them in tan too here

But there are lots of other tan sandals that are very comfortable too which don't look orthopedic (sorry can't spell).

woollychimp · 06/06/2017 11:49

Probably because some of us cannot walk for miles unless wearing comfortable footwear Anna. You wedges you've linked to do look reasonably comfortable but the others definitely don't.

agree fitflops are good

AnnaNimmity · 06/06/2017 11:55

I've got slightly problematic feet - a lot of shoes rub me but all of those I linked to are really comfortable for me!

I was recently on holiday in the far east and mostly wore flip flops (havaianas).

BusterGonad · 06/06/2017 13:12

I have to agree with Anna a lot of the sandals on here are pretty unattractive. I always wear trainers on holiday, it solves all the comfort issues for me, then stick flip flops on for the beach.

NannyR · 06/06/2017 13:21

I have slightly wider than average feet and the teva kayentas linked above were far too narrow for my feet.

SuperFlyHigh · 06/06/2017 13:23

My friend last summer with Me in SW France walked a lot in fit flop thongs.

specialsubject · 06/06/2017 13:28

Those fashion ones are also fugly, very expensive and look like they will tear feet apart.

And a slapped arse face due to painful shoes is also unattractive, look at the models.

These tan leather Jenya ones by Gabor?

I have them in another colour, but thinking of getting the tan ones, too...

rocketman3 · 06/06/2017 14:22

Art collection. My feet are wide too.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 06/06/2017 15:42

Sorry captaincatface Grin

Thanks for all the suggestions, will look properly when I get home for work.

I will be doing a lot of sightseeing around ruins so uneven ground etc. and my feet get ridiculously hot in trainers in hot weather hence looking for sandals.

I'm not a fan of toe posts and have in the past really struggled to find any fitflops I actually like, but will have a look to see what they have this year.
