Something I have never understood is cleaning face without detergent/surfactants such as bar soaps.
For me they work brilliantly and I have no blocked pores.
Surely in order to dissolves fats/oils in make up and spf and blocked pores, you need a detergent? Otherwise wouldn't skin become congested and spotty?
I like SLS and other detergents.
What is the alternative?

Oil dissolves oil. So you can use a balm or oil. I use a non foaming cleanser and massage it in then take it off with a damp warm flannel

Thanks! But do you still get spots? Surely a surfactant helps?

Detergents are more likely to cause spots, they strip your skin turning the PH balance wrong, breaking down the acid mantle
