Does this rug go with my room

I've had my living room revamped. I've got a pale laminate, a taupe grey colour. One black leather 3 seater sofa. A tv on a black glass stand. White fire as shown. Curtains as shown. In an alcove an Art Deco type lady table with glass top.
At the other end of the rooom I'm waiting for a black / white Art Deco type dining set with black glass top

My DIL complains there's no colour in the room so I thought I might get a rug

Do you think this Ikea button rug would go.

I don't want flowery

Hoping it picks out the red in my curtains.
Warms the room up a bit.

You need plain curtains to go with that rug !!

The Ikea rug is a children's rug imo.I wouldn't put it in an adult sitting/living area.

The red one is much better. It'd look nice.

Or you could just wait and see if you spot one you love. Sometimes rooms work better when they evolve a bit. The A/W home stuff will start trickling in at the end of August and by September it'll be all the new stuff in. You could look then if you don't mind waiting.
