I am going to a ball in a few weeks and need to up the glamour a bit.

I have quite a good tan but want to add a bit of shimmer to my legs and arms on the night. Can anyone recommend a product.

Also, what to do if I have a tan on my face and my foundation is now too light. I want to wear makeup and need a base. Any ideas what I should do as a base for my other makeup?

I want to do dramatic eyes and nude lips. Can anyone recommend a good smokey eyeshadow that will stay on all night? My dress is quite simple IMO and I am trying to glam it up with hair, accessories and makeup. I am looking to go a lot heavier than I do during the day for eyes but not do eyes and lips of course.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Would you think of getting your make up done? I did for a big occasion and it was so worth it.

I think I prefer to do it myself and can do a good job. I have just got out the habit of wearing a lot of eye makeup and need product recommendations for creating a heavyish smokey eye. I quite fancy a metallic eyeshadow.

Base wise I'd ask for a sample of your usual foundation in the right shade for you-with-a-tan.

Use an eyeshadow base or your usual primer on your eyelids and then before eye shadow blend in loads of eyeliner as a base fir eyeshadow, it does nfs like it'll be really dark but once you apply shadow it looks great and makes a lovely smokey eye look. The Bourjois trios are nice, I've only used the grey and silver one in the past so I can't vouch for them all.

Sorry about the typos. What I meant was it looks like it'll be really dark (eyeliner) but it makes a great base and a fantastic smokey eye.
