Work trousers

I'm 5 ft 9" and want to buy good quality well cut LONG ( to wear with heels) navy/black/both trousers for work. I'm about a size 14 - sometimes a 12.

I've tried M and S , Next, Debenhams, New Look.

No luck.

I've avoided JL as we don't have a store in town - but perhaps I'm just being a bit daft?

We don't have a Long Tall Sally in town either.

Any ideas please, ladies?

Nothing to add but have a similar problem so watching with interest. Also hourglass shaped with definite waist and heavy thighs - most trousers aren't cut long enough through the leg for me and tight mid thigh.

keepmoving · 03/06/2017 15:51

Sorry I think I've killed the thread before it started!

ThreeForAPound · 03/06/2017 15:53

Watching with interest! I'm 5'11/size 12 and have yet to find a well cut, flattering pair of work trousers that are LONG enough Sad

RedMetamorphosis · 03/06/2017 16:32

I bought some great ones from Topshop about 4 months ago. ASOS has a great Tall range where I find most of my work stuff too.

PurpleDaisies · 03/06/2017 16:32

Zara usually cut for tall people.

crazykitten20 · 03/06/2017 17:14

Asos? Really? I know my daughter (aged18 ) gets some stuff from there. I'll take a look. Sadly I've never heard of Zara!! Again I'll take a look! Thank you 💕💕

I'm sure Long Tall Sally would have something but I don't know what their sizing is like so I'd need to go to a store.

It's so frustrating 😊 Back in the day M and S was perfect - now not so much 😢😳

I used to get ones from gap in tall :)

AlletrixLeStrange · 03/06/2017 17:39

I get mine from Matalan

LilyLongtree · 03/06/2017 17:50

Not sure what style you are looking for OP? But my search for work trousers is always ongoing particularly those that are not polyester - I have recently found these gems, I have bought three pairs as they covered my holy grail of being long, cotton and not Hobbs prices

I'm 5'8" and have some wide leg navy trousers from Me and Em which are very long - I can only wear them with heels.

JDSTER · 03/06/2017 18:20

What about Richmond trousers (I think they're called) from Boden in long?

Acornantics · 03/06/2017 18:31

5ft 11 here, my favourite work trousers are an ageing pair from Planet, and next favourite are from the tall range in Next, from the website though, not in store, and always the more expensive pairs which are IMO cut better and use better fabric.

I need a 12 waist and a 14 for the thighs (curse the pear shape!), so often get 14 extra long and have them taken in on the waist.

crazykitten20 · 03/06/2017 18:46

Some great advice here! Thank you ladies 💕💕💕

Planet - now that's a blast from the past ! Great quality!

I can't comment length wise, but I had a thread on here about work trousers. Lots of suggestions for Gap bi stretch trousers. I got a pair, really pleased with them.

crazykitten20 · 04/06/2017 09:03

Thanks everyone. It is the length first and foremost which is so important. Then the quality of the fabric xx

Lucked · 04/06/2017 09:19

I wear next xl length, the tall are too long. They don't always have that length in store but it is easy to order and return.

Acornantics · 04/06/2017 09:41

crazy Planet, v old school I know! The trousers must be about 10 years old, but such good quality they're likely to outlive me Grin.

Can still get them in the huge multi-brand outlet stores.

crazykitten20 · 04/06/2017 14:01

I'll google planet and next and see what I come up with.

You ladies are the best

Thank you 💕💕💕

Yes, Boden Richmonds.
I'm short so I get the ankle ones but they come in standard and long as well I think

boggedoff · 04/06/2017 14:06

Gap also uniqlo
