Are these dresses too Boobylicious for a meeting?

I've recently changed jobs, and while my usual work clothes are very much casual (skinny and jumper, or tunic dress with leggings and boots), I need to attend a few meetings which will need something more 'smart casual'.

I've also recently got my figure back, and kind of want to celebrate that a bit rather than perpetually hiding under baggy tunics. I'm 5ft10 size 12, decent set of boobs but also still a bit of a tum which needs disguising.

I've been looking at these:

Navy Blue Pencil Dress

Green V neck dress

Red Bow dress

I'm a big fan of that particular brand, as I have a couple of their dresses already (see my previous thread here!), so I know they fit ok. But are they a bit too 'sexy' for a work meeting??

I'm also keen on trying the cigar trousers / top look, but I don't know what to wear on top that doesn't look frumpy.

Any suggestions?

Beautiful dresses but too much for the CS!

The Boden Ravello top would look great with cigarette trousers or the pencil skirt. Separates are going to be more versatile too.

Thanks bombadier , that's nice. Not sure if the top is a little 'beachwear' for me though, I like something with a bit of structure to hold the decolletage in place Wink

I don't want to hide my light under a bushel too much ...

I wear Boden Ravello tops with their Richmond trousers quite a lot .
Ravello is pretty smart and not beachy at all

First two are fine, red one is too much of the air stewardess.

I love them. I'd say - wear what you are most comfortable in. Nothing looks better than confidence and good posture which you only get when you are happy Smile

BOOBYLICIOUS

I say do it. I'm a similar size to you. 5'10 and a 10/12 and 34E Norks. I'd wear them. I'm in a corporate office and would wear them for client meetings.

They're very Joan from mad men. Usually I'd wear pencil skirt heels and blouse/top. So they're right up my street.

Currently pregnant though

toffeeboffin · 02/06/2017 17:51

I love the black one, very Claire Underwood.

I'd buy that and wear it to your meeting where you go for dinner afterwards.

It's always nice to dress up a bit, especially if you are planning on networking at this meeting.

They would not be out of place in my workplace (project management office in a hospital). None of them look too booby to me either.

ememem84 · 02/06/2017 18:29

Hit post too soon. I'm currently pregnant so can't wear my usual pencil skirt too combo.

Firenight · 02/06/2017 18:33

They wouldn't be out of place on the CS dept I'm in for senior meetings. Go for it.

jeaux90 · 02/06/2017 19:46

I have the navy one in the light beige. I think it's a great dress for work and going out.

Nettletheelf · 02/06/2017 23:36

I like all of them. Don't cop out and wear a bloody Ravello top. If you are 5'10" and a size 12 you will have a blinding figure.

I think that the civil service is disappointingly casual and borderline dowdy. I worked in it for a few years. Shame to conform, right?

Re warm weather...I like a frock for work but I find that when it's warm I'm cooler in either (1) a skirt and sleeveless top, both in natural fibres or (2) cropped trousers and a sleeveless top. I wear strappy sandals with heels in both cases. I work in a smart profession and I've never felt out of place.

Yellowaardvark · 03/06/2017 01:58

I really like them, they are something I'd wear.

I am also large-of-nork and get around it dresses looking too booby by wearing a dress size up so they look a little less va-va-voom as well as a bra that doesn't give cleavage

UnGoogleable · 03/06/2017 09:38

Bugger it, I'm going to order one and see how it looks. If it's too 'sexy' for my meeting then I'll use it another time.

I'm also hankering after a pencil skirt / fitted shirt combo. Need to find a decent shirt, possibly short sleeved, any recommendations?

I steer away from strappy tops for work - got too much of the Bingo wing going on, and I tend to get cold unless I have a cardi.
