Oily face

A couple of months ago I started to cleanse tone moisturise every night (and every morning but that's more sporadic). Previously I was a failure of such a routine.

Anyway, now I'm finding my face is really really oily, even as early as part way through the afternoon, and if I don't deal with it earlier my forehead and nose are awful by bedtime.

What am I doing wrong? I don't think I had this problem before I started this routine :-(. I thought this would improve my skin, not make it worse!

Any ideas?

Too rich a moisturiser? Too much moisturiser? What are you using?

I have very oily skin and find the best thing for me is a hydraluric serum (I use Indeed Labs from Boots but there are loads cheaper) and a light weight moisturiser but not on my nose! I use the moisture jelly from the same range.

Is your cleanser/toner/moisturiser too harsh per chance? When you strip off too much of your skin's natural oils, your body sometimes overcompensates by producing even more oil. With skincare products it's always a bit like rolling the dice. What works for everyone might not work for you, and the only way you'll find what's best is through trial and error and seeing how your skin reacts to different things.

Thanks for the responses!

I'm using garnier skin active range at the moment. I do also have a mini Clinique cleanser and pep start moisturiser I'm using on occasion.

So confused and have very limited funds to shop around and try our others without knowing if they'll work..

I'm no expert but I think it still comes down to either 1. The product being too harsh for you (especially if your skin is used to much gentler stuff) or 2. You're using too much product too frequently.

What did you use to do before you started this routine?

Thanks C3.
Before this I periodically started various regimes which lasted a week or 2, supplemented with just cleanser or nothing much.. for my whole adult life thus far :-S
