Sun cream for kids??

I'm looking for a suncream for my 5yr old son. Been using a garnier anti sand spray but it's bloody useless and he has burnt despite covering him in it! He also has come up in a rash!
I'm looking for something that is water resistant and non greasy, any suggestions?
Have tried ultrasun and that was crap too.

Try la roche posay sunscreen for kids

I really like Sainsbury's own brand children's sun cream. It comes in a blue tube. I have three boys and was sick of fighting about sun cream - they used to complain it stung them etc. Used this one for two weeks abroad and it was great - easy to apply, smelt nice and lasted. Also has 5 stars for uva - which not all children's sunscreen has.....

I always use p20

RoganJosh · 01/06/2017 17:58

Which Ultrasun did you use? We are all pale blue in colouring and it's been fine for us. It's the family 30spf we have.

P20 factor 50.
Have used it for years and never had a burnt child yet.
Not creamy or oily so goes on easily.
Put on before breakfast so it sinks in and no need to reapply even after swimming.
Stains like mad though
Used piz Buin once a day once and ds had terrible allergic reaction. Face swelled up and was bright red.

I use own brand supermarket suncream as it tends to have a 5 star uva rating unlike some of the more expensive brands

I buy the Soltan once for kids- factor 50. They do an 8hr play, 1hr water resistant and a 6hr play, 3hr water resistant.
I cream him up in the morning and again at lunchtime on holiday, plus early evening if needed. We only needs it on face, neck, lower arms and legs as he's always in rash vest/ t shirt, shorts and a sun hat.
We have done many foreign holidays including Florida and Balearics and he has never burned. He has a very very light tan after a week in Menorca with this regime.
He can get a bit baby eczema ish but doesn't react to this at all.

I use Nivea --it was on offer-

mintmagnummm · 01/06/2017 18:22

Thanks for all of these suggestions so far!

I use garnier ambre solaire for kids, factor 50. My ds had never got burnt.
I use the adult version in 50+ for myself, as well as the aftersun and lip protection.
