And could I wear men's?

I've got wide feet and find them ok but there isn't a lot of room to spare. I find them pretty much unisex.

MrsJayy · 29/05/2017 12:00

I wear youths converse shoes not they are fine what do you mean mens?

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 29/05/2017 12:02

There's no men's/women's and yes they are narrow.

fluffiphlox · 29/05/2017 12:03

Well I thought there were converse made on women's and men's lasts and wondered whether the men's were huge compared to the women's, which I thought were on perhaps on the narrow side.

I've got wide feet and need to go up half a size (I'm 6.5 but wear 7). The laces are adjustable, so loosen them at the toes, and wear them around the house for a few days to break them in, they'll be just right Smile there's more breaking in involved in hi-tops, ime.

Chewbecca · 29/05/2017 12:03

Too narrow for me, yes (but I do have wide feet with high insteps)

fluffiphlox · 29/05/2017 12:03

Thanks for the replies.

I think they're pretty narrow. I couldn't wear mine while pregnant because my feet swelled up.

khajiit13 · 29/05/2017 12:04

I have wide feet but they fit me fine because the canvas is flexible and obviously with them being lace up, that gives you more flexibility too. Took me a couple of weeks to break them in but i wear them all the time now

MrsJayy · 29/05/2017 12:06

Mine are youths so unisex tbh i thought an adult size 7 was a size 7 especially in trainers

Branleuse · 29/05/2017 12:07

i find them too narrow and also far too thin on the soles. They are overpriced plimsolls

peaceloveandbiscuits · 29/05/2017 12:25

Well yes, they are plimsolls. Not intended for every day wear.

olderthanyouthink · 29/05/2017 12:33

I'm sure there's a men's and women's because my friend has two pairs in the same size and ones bigger than the other. Before I thought they were all the same, you could just compare them in a shop I suppose.

And yes they are narrow.

birchygoo · 29/05/2017 12:39

I found them much to narrow and opted for rocket dog instead

DonaldTrumpsTrump · 29/05/2017 12:43

They hurt my little toes if I wear them all day as I have wide ish fat feet but they look good so it's worth it. Mine are size 6 even though I'm size 7, I would suggest going small but definitely try some on first.

fluffiphlox · 29/05/2017 12:46

Thanks again. I think I need to go to an actual shop and attempt to shove my giant trotters into a few pairs. Hate shoe shops.

peaceloveandbiscuits · 29/05/2017 12:48

Oh yes, Rocket Dog have lovely wide toes.

Whiskwarrior · 29/05/2017 12:51

It depends on the Converse style, I think.

I've got two pairs. One is the bog standard pump style, the other is chunkier and rounder. They're sturdier than the pumps.

I've got wide Hobbit feet but I'm ok with them no I've worn them a bit.

defineme · 29/05/2017 12:58

my usual size split at the sides twice, went up half a size and they were fine. this was in the unisex basic pump.

NotYoda · 29/05/2017 13:18

I find the real Converse narrow. And have a bunion to show for it

Sports Direct do a copy (Dunlop) for much much less money, which are more comfortable

yayayahey · 29/05/2017 13:18

I have narrow feet and I find them narrow. Dh doesn't have particularly wide feet and they cut his feet to shreds.

hiccupgirl · 29/05/2017 13:23

I have wide feet and I can't wear converse. I'm also a 6.5 and they don't do half sizes - the 6 is too small and the 7 is too long and too narrow.

I wear Rocket Dogs or Supergas which are both wider and fit better. Although Rocket Dogs don't do a 6.5/40 their 6 fits me fine. Supergras do a 39.5 or a 40 which both fit me.

PickleSarnie · 29/05/2017 13:25

The sizes have changed recently. I've always been a 7. Bought a new pair of size 7s the other day and they were like boats. So had to get 6s. I haven't been a size 6 AS an adult ever. Really frustrating if they've started vanity sizing shoes now.

ShinyGirl · 29/05/2017 13:25

The end bit is awful, rubs my heels so much that they are unwearable.

travailtotravel · 29/05/2017 13:26

I size up for Converse.
