New to the highlighted life

Hello Smile

I had a full head of highlights done in early April and I now have a lot of root showing. The way my hairdresser did it was fab so it's not a clear distinct line between my natural hair and the highlighted hair - not sure if that makes a difference.

He also cut it from long to a bob.

As well as the roots, the back of the hair seems much darker and as if it's all natural hair but that could just be the fact that it was darker to start with.

Anyways

I'm going on a beach/pool holiday next week and wondered if it is safe to get it highlighted again before it?

Also, what do I ask for? The majority of my hair is still highlighted so seems silly to have the full foil experience again (it took AGES). Do I ask for just my roots doing? Is that possible?

It works like this. Full head. Half head. T-bar I think. Not sure about chlorine but ask the salon and they will advise.

I don't understand how they can highlight my roots without doing the ends because the foils won't fit on Confused

So I would choose someone like a half head instead? But wouldn't that include highlighting my already highlighted hair that I don't want highlighting?

I swear I'm an intelligent person in other areas of life but this hair business has my mind blown.

Yes just get your roots done, they still put fouls on but only put hair dye on the root then wrap it in foil!

Well, my hair can go a little brassy sometimes despite using toning shampoos at home, so I do have the foils put on already coloured hair. If I just got the roots done the lengths of my hair probably wouldn't blend in. Speak to the colourist and see what they suggest. I think I have three colours in mine. A platinum a mocha shade and some other blonde.

I'm not sure what colours my stylist used but he's a magician. The trouble is I need to book in for the right thing so say if I ask for roots then get there and want half head he might not have the time.

Why don't you call them and say you had your hair highlighted X weeks ago and your roots are coming through so what should you book? They'll do this all the time.

You're right, of course they'll know what I should be booking in for! Thank you
