Epilationn revelation

I have just discovered that a slick of conditioner on my underarms makes epilating them FAR less painful. You get the sting of the hair coming out but no ripping at skin. I even tried my bikini line and that was fine too! Previously I had stayed away from epilating under arms as I did it once and cried...

I must give that a try.

Yep, I use DH's cheapy stuff. Don't need it on my legs but I have spent years not epilating pits because it hurt too much!

I've not done it for a few months but my technique for epilating pits is being in the bath, arm up in the air shouting FUCK FUCK FUCK

It's over quite quickly though and you aren't supposed to put conditioner on any part before epilating because it means it can't grab as many hairs. Are you sure it isn't just spreading the pain out by taking longer? As in not getting all the hairs at once?

I thought the conditioner might stop the wee tweezers grabbing onto hairs but it seems to work fine. Don't mind it taking longer if it doesn't hurt as much!

Hijacking slightly - can anyone recommend an epilator? I've been eyeing up one of the Braun cordless ones.

I've never even thought of that, doesn't it make the hairs slippery?! I use talc which I think helps.

red I use a really cheap Philips one. Not sure what the point of more expensive ones is as the descriptions were so vague. No attachments to mess around with and does the trick.

Another hijacking! Is there any way to stop all the hairs growing back under the skin? I just dug mine out again to give it another go (I regularly do this, then always stop because of the growing back) and tried very hard for a month. DH has forbidden me to use it any more as he was so shocked at the state of my legs! Plus it takes so long.

When I used to epilate I used exfoliating gloves every day and that prevented most ingrown hairs.

Hi ladies. I just got an epilator and went at my legs hammer and tongs, they felt pretty smooth, felt v chuffed.

But it's been a few days and I feel like I have all over stubble. I thought it would be longer til regrowth happened, and now I'm wondering if my epilator was breaking the hairs off rather than pulling out from the root. Is that possible?

I've been epilated for about 4 years now and the pain has reached minimum for pits. I do them every 2 weeks in the summer and once a month in the winter. They definitely get sparser and thinner with time.

Never managed to do lady garden though. Those hairs seem to have roots like tree trunks.

Sounds about right for the regrowth howmuch. You'll see, i think if you look closely at the hairs and at your legs. There's a difference between shaving as the root (?) is still there and epilating it's pulled out so the hairs look cut with shaving and more rounded when pulled out.
