Lovely S&B MNers, can you help me find a dress to wear to my beautiful DSD's wedding.

From searching over the past few months there appears to be an obvious style for MOBs, but what about SMOBs? Do we wear similar or just as a guest.

I'm not after outshining anyone, ie DP's ex -we all get on fairly well so no 'point scoring' to be had (as someone said to me recently. Hmm

I'm Asian with olive skin tone, and have short hair similar to Halle Berry did in the late 90s. I'm just under 5 foot, a size 10 and have short chunky legs, an ample derrière and wobbly tum. Yay, go me Grin

My best feature is my neck and shoulders, plus usually my arms which i hope to tone up more a la Pippa M.

My usual style is shift dress and heels which I'm happy to stick with , but everything around seems to have huge florals on which don't suit me. Then there are those asymmetric dresses in those jacquard type fabrics which whilst lovely, drown me as I'm at least a foot too short...

Colours that suit me are pinks, corals, turquoise.

Cannot be lace as have a feeling MOB's dress is.

Over to you....and TIA

I think I'm more confused now, as having tried on 19 dresses I'm still not convinced I've found the right one for me Confused

Here are some of the contenders

@achangeisgonnacome love the 1st red one with the long split sleeves. Stunning! Smile

HardcoreLadyType · 28/05/2017 18:29

The coral one. Definitely. You look gorgeous in it, and it's a little more unusual than some of the others, which are nice enough, but not very special.

TheNemesisOfLame · 28/05/2017 18:29

I like the splodgy one best -and the blue flowery one 2nd.

achangeisgonnacome · 28/05/2017 18:31

and then lastly this one.

The one I'm drawn too most, is actually the red drapey one, with the pink floraly one second. However, DSD's mum's MOB is purple and green. Is there too much of those colours, in that dress to be a non starter?

aah cross post, but good to know I'm on the right lines with the red/coraley one.

If I go with that, how would I accessorise it?

The blue floral looks really good on you, it seems to fit well. Also the red one.

titsbumfannythelot · 28/05/2017 18:33

The splodgy one is my favourite too. Although you look great in all of them.

Intransige · 28/05/2017 18:33

I like the spotty one (the 4th one) and also the first one with the draped sleeves.

RedMetamorphosis · 28/05/2017 18:33

You look amazing in the red one.

Intransige · 28/05/2017 18:35

Having seen those, you would definitely suit this I think:

Love the coral one but those sleeves might get annoying after a while.

Also love the pink flowery one.

lilydaisyrose · 28/05/2017 18:41

What a lovely figure you have, and beautiful skin!

I like the last blue one, not the navy - the crocheted mid blue one.

JustMyLuckUnfortunately · 28/05/2017 18:49

I think number 1 and number 3 are gorgeous on you

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 28/05/2017 18:59

Number 4 pic, and the last one fit you wonderfully.

verite · 28/05/2017 19:40

I like one best but I agree - that badgley mischka from the outnet would look amazing on you.

achangeisgonnacome · 03/06/2017 22:27

In the end I kept nos 2 and 3. My love of the red one was dampened somewhat when DD said I looked like I was trying too hard to be young....

So, now S&B gurus please can you help me style both outfits?

I'm after ideas for a cover up - do people still wear wraps/pashminas?

In my head, I'd wear one of those 1960s collarless coats but being short not sure if they'd suit. Love the idea of a deep pink one though. Or a light blue one for the other dress.

Found shoes already courtesy of HOF. Cheap too, so could buy pink and navy.

Plus bag and jewellery ideas, Simple or statement?

Sorry, it's a big ask I know but am in need of your help Confused

Tia

I was gonna vote for the blue & white print one- wasn't a fan of the wafty sleeves on the red!

For dress 3 I'd pick a shade of blue from the dress and accessorise with that, or go for perhaps silver or grey?

Dress 2- pink is the dominant colour so why not go for accessories that pick out the green? Would balance nicely and stop it looking too girly. Gold jewellery would look nice too.
