To these

Anyone know what I can use? First is Shellac romantique and unfortunately no salons seem to use Shellac nowadays!

Second is OPI Love is in the Bare...

Essie ballet slippers or opi bubble bath?

eBay may do the ones you like they often have discontinued products.

Thanks, I actually bought the Shellac one off eBay and it looks genuine, but I took it to my regular manicurist who had a bit of a go at me (got really irate, I wasn't even pushing her to use it) and said she wouldn't use it with the top and base coat she has as they were "incompatible". I was like ok cool, do you have a similar colour? No, she said, trying to push me towards pinks. I was like ok if you don't have similar let's not do a gel - I don't want a colour I didn't even want on my hands for two weeks. So she was like ok fine, and we did a standard polish red. So now I'm wondering whether I try to do gels myself at home...because I never get the shade I want in a salon!

I use OPI gels with a sensationail lamp, you could buy the kit and use it with the shellac you have?

This was the Shellac romantique I got done for my civil wedding. (Weird pic as i cut my ring off the bottom)

Boots! It's sold with the base/top coat and some colours for about £70 iirc but I use the OPI base and top coats because I mostly use their colours. But I do mix and haven't had any issues

Looks lovely on you btw

You could go on the CND website (makers of Shellac) and search for a salon which uses Shellac; there are plenty about. I have Shellac every couple of weeks.

Most nail techs will get a bit shirty if you turn up with Shellac as it's theoretically a 'professional only' product which they've trained to use and invested in the equipment. There's a lot of fake stuff about, too.

You could, as an alternative, get the open retail CND Vinylux (weekly polish) version of Romantique for about £7 if you want to do it yourself.

From experience, both Essie Ballet Slippers and OPI Bubble Bath are nightmares to apply, either lumpy, streaky or both.
